Also, who decided that a .5 weight fox pelt will yield 4x as much when turned into leather? Or a wolf pelt 2x as much.

Your thoughts, insights, and musings on this matter intrigue me
Finally picked it up today. Not exactly very far, but I'm playing as an Imperial.
Trolls are easy if you shoot fire at them.SonderKommando wrote:

I was shooting flames at frost troll and it was doing jack shit.. He was like come at me bro, so I ran.
Im going towards a warrior avatar so I've been dumping points into one handed weapons, blocking, Stamina, etc.
You should be running away from trolls at level 6 warrior.SonderKommando wrote:

Yeah on my first character (sneaky one) I saw the troll and decided to start attacking him. Two seconds later I was running for my life.SonderKommando wrote:

I had the same experience when trying to take on my first pair of giants, even at around level 12 they gave me a fair bit of trouble, thankfully my paladin sword/board char seems fairly over powered so was all ok in the end.
Yeah my aim is still perfect:
Also, for PC:
I suggest everyone reads this: http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/elder-scrolls-v/1212293p1.html
to make your skyrim even more enjoyable. You can bind magic/weapons to number keys. and theres a way to change your FOV

I only shoot the game animals where I would IRL. Heart/lungs.
I also thought I'd have to forge one eventually with perks I didn't have yet.Aries_37 wrote:
You'll need to forge one and enchant it if you want to finish the quest (he just gives you some gold, not sure if it's needed to unlock the second quest he gives but I doubt it). Waning fire is 30% resist so you need a fair few perks plus a grand soul.unnamednewbie13 wrote:
Thank you game for more annoyances.
Courier arrives with a letter asking to buy the 'dwarven greaves of waning fire.' I remember picking them up. I also remember recycling them at the enchanter table to learn the ability. So I craft another pair of dwarven boots for the guy and take it to the table. Lo and behold, no waning fire.
As it turns out, I didn't need to. Apparently, it's enough to simply "pass on the knowledge" you gained from tearing them apart to the guy. He treats the conversation like you actually handed him the boots (which I didn't have), though.
So I'm grateful the developers thought about that, even if it was awkward. Glad I didn't load the save I had fifteen minutes earlier.
I ran through teh Labyrinth for some reason, it was infested with frost trolls.. I ran like a little girl.DefCon-17 wrote:

In case anybody hasn't found out yet (should make skills easier)...
Spoiler (highlight to read):
Look for the warrior/thief/mage and lover standing stones. The lover boosts all skill learning rate by 15% while the others boost their smaller sets of skills by a 20% learning rate. Combine either with in-game sleep for some fast bloody leveling.

Played for 3 hours... only a level 4. lol. This game is huge. I've been using fire + steel sword.
Oh, and why are there two moons?

is this game worth getting? I hated oblivion, but I can't put my finger on why. Maybe it was the enemies, maybe it was the world, maybe it was the graphics. Or maybe it was the fact that everything leveled up with you so you fought the same fucking thing the whole time and leveling was pointless.
so, yay? Nay?
