im thinking of putting a custom rom and kernel on my sgsii
the one im looking at now is Ninphetamine with villain rom. i kinda wanted to try out cyanogenmod but its still in nightlies for sgsii. any suggestions on kernels/roms? i really need to improve the battery life on this thing and people have been getting 3-5 days out of it with these custom kernels

If yes i might consider these mod too, im getting around 1.5-2 days of battery from only texting and using an app killer.

hardware wise, its easily the best phone ive ever seen or used. lighter and thinner, as well as more powerful than any phone available.
the battery life has been quite lacking, i normally have to do a 1 hour charge between classes to last the entire day (9am-3am usually). its not a huge deal since i have free time but id like it to at least last a day or two.
this is my first android, coming from plenty of iphone, blackberry and early gen smartphone experience. id say its incredibly sleek, but my biggest issue is getting used to android itself. having to find good programs to do SMS, browse, etc is a bit of a pain so i'd say you're at an advantage if you've used one before. i cant really comment on what its like compared to other android phones since theyre not popular at all here (ive literally seen two other people with any android) but theres no lag whatsoever in the OS itself and the screen is beautiful. its quite solid for being so thin and light too, ive dropped it hard at least 3 or 4 times on the road/sidewalk now.
though at this point id look to see what the nexus prime brings, especially if youre in the states
