They partially follow some historical accuracy, while they buff some tanks and guns and nerf others than they actually were like in real life.

Jay: It is accurate in the fact that the tanks are accurately modelled and have engines/ammo/armour etc as they did in real life. However time periods arent really matched up, tanks get upgunned from what they usually had, prototype tanks etc. Which is why you end up with situations like the Tiger being an average tank as the game doesnt take into account (as it shouldnt really, as a game) why it was so formidable at the time against weaker tanks.

Tier 1 battles aren't that great, just to warn you camm. Also working your way to better and better tanks will really suck as it really requires plenty of time invested.

What I recommend doing, you stick with the stock gun(starting gun on the tank) on tier 1 tanks as the ammo is free and that you research everything on your tier 1 tanks. Reasoning for researching everything is so you don't ever have to go back to tier 1 if you want to switch to a different tree or nation.

cool, thanks for that. yeha looks like it will be a bit of a grind, seems enjoyable though, and it's FREE!

Finally got my Panzer IIIA and now the game is really fun, the 37mm gun was kinda silly and did nothing against larger tanks but since it was one the T1, the ammo is free, but I upgraded to the 50mm gun, and now I can almost damage the bigger tanks the game often drops me in with if I aim at the right spot.  And I absolutely dominate on T2s and lower, it usually only takes one or two hits.  I even took out an M2 light tank(not sure what tier though tbh) in two hits(dropped him to 25 with one, finished with the other), and those were ALWAYS an invincible pain in the ass with the Panzer II.  I've even been getting leads on targets from long distance and dropping them.  Finished off an M3 I think from like 500m away with a path AND trajectory lead, SOOOOOOOO satisfying.  I got like 5 kills in one round one time too.  Only problem is that gun takes forever to aim and the tank takes forever to stop bouncing when I brake which makes aiming take even longer.

Also switched over from the default arrow crosshair to a regular crosshair which helped tremendously.  And I realized during the last few rounds with my Panzer II that you can zoom in sniper mode, twas a very facepalm moment

Doesn't work like that, all nations tanks are mixed together, and you can play any nation, you aren't restricted to going as one, you can research any tech tree.

I play Russian and American tanks mostly. I do have a Panzer II Luchs at the moment as my only German tank as I want to unlock the vk2801 light tanks as it looks pretty sweet. Heard tier 5 light tanks don't really make money though which is discouraging.

Ah well, Germany has some good shit. They are a long range based faction and they have the most accurate guns in the game.

Russians are more of a brawling type of faction, Germany is the sniping type of faction as I said. USA is sort of a mix of the 2 although many of their tanks tend to have shit hull armor but great turret armor.
