It's 30 bucks for unlimited texts on my plan.. so yea, thats 30 bucks google is saving me a month. There is a nice convenience factor with using gvoice besides that to. Saving and replying from the web in a simple interface for example.

did I blur fail this time? ..lol

Tethering works nicely here. Every once in a blue moon my 3g will go to 1x.. but really, not that often. Needless to say when my plan is up in November I'll be 4g'ing it.

For voice calls it calls their center which connects to the number you are calling. .. since I have certain "free" numbers I can call with Verizon I added the Google number.
There are lots of other good reasons to use gvoice that goes beyond just the mobile app.

Did you guys finally get it?

For other aspiring fitness buffs this app is pretty good.. especially considering it is free.

I turned off the reminders.. since the time of my workouts are never consistent. I only wish it allowed me to enter more detailed workout information (sets/reps/distance)

.. but really, still worth a try. I've tried about a half dozen other free ones before this one.

So I've got this commercial free radio station I like to listen to that's in my home town. They recently started using the internet to stream the broadcast. I would like to tune into the broadcast while traveling. I've tried two internet radio apps so far, and they both crash and cut stream randomly. Is there a certain player app that's better than the rest, or is mobile internet radio still that terrible? I would gladly pay for one if I thought it wouldn't crash at such a high rate. So far I've tried A Online Radio and Tune-In Radio.

I have. Its good for tracking you workout, but isn't as useful logging your diet. Noom Droid incorporates calorific, which is very useful. I found that simplicity is the best way to keep a consistent log.

There is note section for tracking protein intake etc..

Anyone know of some way to speed up phone detection in kies, or instal the update witout Kies?

Try going to your messages > Hit the Options button (the button on the phone itself) > settings > go down to vibrate when notified and unselect it. Try that see if that helps.

Is there any way to set a specific contacts ringer volume? I keep my phone on vibrate all the time except at night. I hate being woken up by text messages and phone calls from people I don't care about but will miss calls from people I so care about if my phone is silent at night.

Ideas?

Use Tasker, you can set a profile where if a text is received from a certain person it performs an action - for example: set phone to loud, play sound.

It'll take a bit of getting used to but once you get the hang of it it's great.

I think you might be able to do this with Juice Defender - which is easier to use.
