Yeah i think they did, after like 2 or 3 months or so.
I dont see how making it F2P is going to make a change. People will play it for a month, realise its shit and quit. same as before when it wasnt f2p.

Calling Hellgate London an MMO is a bit of a stretch of the imagination, as heavily randomized and instanced the maps and player capacities were. At best, it's a F2P online action RPG, like Diablo 2. Only 3D.iNeedUrFace4Soup wrote:

I never did finish the game, even in single player. Not because I hated it, but because I was hoping to be able to play it with a buddy or two.
I actually played it quite a bit. Even a few months ago, I pulled it out again and went SP for hours. I really enjoyed it, off- and online, so I´m looking forward to this release.
If us Europes will be able to play, that is.

So, I started installing since the beta started on the third. It´s a bitch to do so. Download small setup file, which then opens a (always on top ) downloader, which then starts to download 6 gigs with around 600-800 Kb/s, which then need to be unzipped into a specified location, which then let you install the game.
Good job.
Length of the overall process: almost 4 (!) hours.

I wonder if it'll let me use my DVD.
The actual install came with the same windows as the original, but I highly doubt you can use it. I was thinking the same throughout this painstaking process.
I think I'll try installing the game from disc first, then see if the non-beta release of this will take and update that.
Give it a go and tell me if it worked. Be warned though, cause whenever I started Hellgate, I can´t connect to steam without deleting the clientregistry.blob first. REALLY annoying
o.O
Yeah...
