I'm not personally saying it's bad. In fact aside from the Gametrailers review I watched earlier, I know nothing about it at all.

(The gametrailers review was so painful to watch. People with controllers constantly aiming next to their enemies instead of at them because they can't aim because they're using controllers)

Customization looks pretty awesome. I only catched that on the stream before the dude went to bed. The last vid you posted before Timmah was horrible tbh. Movement looks clunky and while playing against bots won´t be the best experience it should at least be a good one, since one of the main features was the seamless transition between SP, MP and Co-op.

just seems like a cheesy cash-in on the free-running/parkour fad... which is the gayest fucking thing i have ever seen, anyway, even in real life. why would i want to enact it in gameplay? if i want an fps game i'll play a solid fps game. i don't need to go somersaulting off walls in lycra to improve my enjoyment. no stats and shit, too? come on, in a game so dependent upon 'ranking up' and 'persistent leveling', not displaying the stats is just senseless. game is a mess.

I wouldn't expect it to draw loving attention from the CoD/Halo crowd, since it knocks you on your ass if you're blasted by a shotgun or some such. Definitely on my radar, but not for full price. I already have too many games.

It doesnt mean that it is going to be good. It just means they are introducing an idea to consoles that the PC's have more experience with. (Which I dont understand anyway but whatever)

It is still probably developed for consoles first

how is it proof that they're not snubbing the pc market? that's retarded logic. the fact they're including very basic shit for the console crowd should alert you to the fact that the game is developed with console players IN MIND - if not FIRST AND FOREMOST. the 'pc gamers may already know this' shit isn't a huge /salute to the hardcore pc gamer, it's a fucking concession made because their game is focussed on console gamers.

honestly i have no idea how you're seeing this sort of game content as a 'victory' for pc gaming

I didn't say it was proof they weren't. Obviously, playing on both consoles and PC's nowadays, I can scarcely be biased too much in either direction. I just appreciate the dry humor of it.

Besides which, I'm not about to protest a conciliatory move that may bring PC's and consoles closer together.

there is no dry humour whatsoever. you're reading into it far too much. they're admitting that they're over-simplifying their game from the menu and tutorial systems up (god forbid the actual core gameplay) to cater to two audiences. that means the game is a matter of comprimise from the start. the disclaiming (note: informational, not apologetic) tone of the menu message just states the obvious: game is made for multiple (incompatible) platforms. ergo: it'll more than likely be shit. if you can show me one game that has flourished as a 'top-rate' fps for both console and pc gaming i'll perhaps give this game a fly's fart of a chance.

Doom was never ported properly from the pc.

Perhaps, but it was enjoyed by plenty on the console. As for CoD4, I don't know what to say. Just because a game has top ratings doesn't mean you have to like it or put it on a pedestal above your own favorites. I enjoyed multiplayer until about level 50-ish, then moved on.
