I read the link kmar posted and the one i did. im not just gonna take john galts word for it.
Shrug, people get worked up and excited over retarded shit all the time. Had anyone even heard of gluten intolerance ten years ago? Now it seems 20% of the population has it and they all blame different things for it. People fear things they do not understand and 90% of people do not understand GE crops. Fine, go overpay for organic.11 Bravo wrote:

john, nobody understand GE crops right now....that is my point. and i will pay more. but, they should label it and give people a choice.
Anything labeled as organic is non-GE. There's your choice.11 Bravo wrote:

Must suck to live life in fear.

i have been going to whole foods for a long time. mainly because i dont like the way the food industry treats animals. if you call that fear then fine. you just swallow whatever the FDA says so enjoy that.JohnG@lt wrote:

No, I just don't care as long as people aren't dropping dead or developing mutations. Neither is happening, so meh. As for animals... they're raised for meat and have no other purpose.11 Bravo wrote:

As for the animals that's your opinion and that's fine. Some people still care in this world.
Yeah, I hate animals too.
I'm confused as to what people worry about with genetically modified organisms. We examined this last year during a bioethics discussion for one of my courses (people had to pick sides, so it wasn't necessarily reflecting what most people were concerned about), but are they worried about some sort of gene transfer from plants/animals to humans?
i think most people didnt understand why the majority of the world wanted to take it slow with respect to gmo's yet the FDA went full steam ahead. plus its no secret tons of people in the FDA used to work for those huge companies. then take into account the fact that it is pretty much "illegal" for farmers to clean their seeds instead they have to buy them from one or two sources. it all just seems shady.DesertFox- wrote:

I don't think the primary fear is actually eating GMO's, it's what unforeseen impact it may have on the environment. Since we're skirting the edges of 'forbidden science' in ethics, this is still a touchy subject.DesertFox- wrote:

I buy organic if only to be certain that my chicken wasn't rolling around in its shit in a 2x2' cage all its miserable life, not because I'm afraid I'll sprout tentacles from my eyes.

US Government Seizes Torrent Search Engine DomainSource - Slashdot"This morning, visitors to the Torrent-Finder.com site are greeted with an ominous graphic which indicates that ICE has seized the site's domain.
'My domain has been seized without any previous complaint or notice from any court!' the exasperated owner of Torrent-Finder told TorrentFreak this morning. 'I firstly had DNS downtime. While I was contacting GoDaddy, I noticed the DNS had changed. GoDaddy had no idea what was going on and until now they do not understand the situation and they say it was totally from ICANN,' he explained. Aside from the fact that domains are being seized seemingly at will, there is a very serious problem with the action against Torrent-Finder. Not only does the site not host or even link to any torrents whatsoever, it actually only returns searches through embedded iframes which display other sites that are not under the control of the Torrent-Finder owner."

I thought Homeland Security was a govermment body designed to fight terrorism?
Scary that they can seize at will any site, and completely bypass the domain host without prior warning.
http://techcrunch.com/2010/11/27/ice-ice-baby/While the graphic is pretty scary, Market Ticker’s Karl Denninger points out the websites themselves and the servers they run on have not actually been seized, just the domains.
