Well now Ireland is not about the National or Govt debt, its about stability of the banking system.

Which is what the TARP bailout was about...and you decried that. Oh, right. That was beneficial for the US. And all things US are evil. Must maintain trollish consistency, even if it points out your consistent hypocrisy.Dilbert_X wrote:

waiting for portugal and spain to request fucking massive bailouts (and who knows, probably italy aswell) and then to have the EU disband because nations who do properly manage their economies will be fed up.

Depends, if you claim to be running a capitalist free market economy then bailouts = communism.FEOS wrote:

Notice how Western media depicts tragedy around the world. If it's a disaster somewhere like Africa or the Middle East or Asia, then grief is displayed full-on. Journalists take close up pictures of people crying their eyes out and unashamadely post it all over their websites and nothing is spared, but when it's a disaster in the West (e.g: New Zealand mine disaster) they reserve respect for the bereaved and instead post pictures of candle light memorials and vigils and keep everything clean and tidy, sad and personal (e.g: letters/images from children and all that)
The media make people's perceptions of the world, and the way they do it is very cunning.

An interesting question would be "Why is that?".Mekstizzle wrote:

Lack of respect and dignity is the easiest answer as to why. Don't buy into the hype about the caring left wing liberal media, alot of it is self serving and about reaffirming status quos, even if it's just subconsciously ...which is why I find the whole charity/think of the african children/help poor people stuff to be stupid because I see it so ...belittling(?)
lol
What the fuck is that supposed to mean mek?

Second, their businesses failed. Giving money to failed businessmen so their companies can avoid bankruptcy and they can continue drawing salaries and bonuses is madness.
The government effectively bought the banks and retained the failed execs on the payroll, seems beyond stupid to me.
