GFX card would need an upgrade to play it well. RAM is getting cheaper all the time so getting some more isn't a bad idea either. Umart are currently selling 2GB sticks of Kingston RAM for $28, but I'm not sure if I can really go the Kingston... my flatmate just bought 6G of it though and has been running fine so far.
edit: Or maybe I'll just buy a second 5770 and crossfire them...
I built a rig on umart about 3 hours ago. Top end shit, ~$1400.
i7, 3GHz Lian Li Case 6GB RAM 650w PSU some kickass Gigabyte mb Asus GTX580
Hopefully, by the time BF3 comes out, prices will drop/new tech comes out.
I'm looking into maybe getting a 6870 instead. A good 5870 is still $400, whereas I can get a 6870 for under $300, and sell my 5770 to my flatmate (I'm sure he'll buy it) for around $100. Seems like a good idea. Just reading up on the 6870 now. At the moment my impression it's somewhere pretty squarely between the 5770 and 5870, yeah?
I got my 4870 just over two years ago and it's already outdated?
This better be a bloody good game
You'd be wanting to upgrade soon anyway. Most games coming out from here on in will be primarily running DX11. Give it another 12 months and I doubt there'll be much support for DX10 any more.
Gonna have to go with the 360 version first unless I magically get a gaming PC. Graphics on my current Mac (obviously I'd install Windows 7) aren't exactly the best. Though, they CAN handle SCII. I dunno.
They are already talking about pre-order DLC maps. They say they are paying extra attention to the PC version, but anyone else think they are going to completely fuck this up as usual?

I seriously doubt it will be better than BF2.

Funny how people make these assumptions a good 6 months before the slated release date, with no actual screenshots or gameplay to speak of.
Can you tell me this week's winning lottery numbers too?
stfu you are making the same kind of assumption that it will be good...

A presentation by Per Einarsson from DICE and Sam Martin from Geomarics. The presentation focuses on the implementation and use of Enlighten, a middleware toolkit for computing real-time radiosity from Geomarics. It demonstrates how the technology is used by its integration into the Frostbite 2 game engine. It demonstrates how the workflow, content pipelines and run-time systems are greatly increased with the help of Enlighten to achieve real-time radiosity for use in video games.

Hireg if BC2 is way better than BF2 though, so you'd think it would be on par/better than BC2. I also lag less in BC2, unless my connection is playing up, which is 9/10 my ISP.

Sure it's better than older games.. but it's still far too bad imo
