£4-500 minimum unfortunately.
11 days and I'll have an i7 950 to play on
Ah right. I'll take it to the tech section and get a bit more advice
best idea is to wait until they release the specs and make sure your upgrade meets the minimum at least.
its what i'm doing.

Yeah wait till just before release.
I need to upgrade my gfx card cus my 4850 keeps crashing (unless I under clock the VRAM) which I was gonna do soon have the cash but haven't had chance to go get one, and was waiting for prices to drop on mid range was thinking a GTX 460, but I dunno I may wait a little now, to see what BF3 will need, and whether I need to upgrade everything else, which I can't really afford, will just have to hope my E8400 and 4g DDR2 will cope...

Your thoughts, insights, and musings on this matter intrigue me
I've currently got a Phenom II x4 B50, 5770 and 4gb RAM. I'm guessing at least the card will need an upgrade, yeah?
Possibly.
Hopefully my i7 930 @ 4Ghz, 6GB 1600Mhz RAM and 2GB HD6970 can handle it

I can't wait to be repeatedly killed by the jets that I can't do shit about
Oh yeah BC2 runs fine, for me. Especially since I went from 3 to 4g of ram.FloppY_ wrote:

Yeah... I might have to upgrade everything apart from my 460.
for a fatty you're a serious intellectual lightweight.
Solution, don't sit in areas of interest or use the MG on any vehicle to bring them down. I just hope DICE doesn't make them cheap easy kills for players camping stinger sites, or even worse giving each player some form of portable AA to spam at them.Doctor Strangelove wrote:

I don't think the problem was with the jets or the AA. It's the fact that when you're in a stationary AA you are a complete sitting duck. Maybe they should make them a lot harder for the jets to take out, more armoured or sheltered or something, rather than making the AA easier to use. Then the elite jet pilots can still take them out, but with more effort. Likewise, a complete noob can't just jump in and take out every jet out of the sky with little effort.
So you want them to be as impossible to kill as they were in BF2?Evil_Black_Fox wrote:

Really, jets were only fun for 1-4 people on a server of 64. And I have no idea how DICE could make something with just speed, range and firepower balanced.
Just make the AA a lot harder for jets to kill, rather than make it impossible to fly a jet without being killed. That'd balance it out more.
I think the best thing would be to stop stationary AA from being highlighted by the bombing HUD of the planes. They won't be able to see if it's occupied when they begin to do a bombing run of a flag and by the time they do get close enough, it's to late for them to change targets.
