You should use the white sheep wool blocks for the windmill's sails and wooden planks for the rotor.

nothing about this game seems appealing
I'm going to attribute the love I've seen people have for it with a cross between graphics nostalgia and the addictiveness of customization. There's something endearing about huge blocky pixels that takes a certain personality to get.
Hmm...
For me it's not graphics nostalgia at all.
In fact, with such a low resolution and no anti-aliasing, I have to constantly concentrate to spot things that are a bit further away, which actually gave me a headache last night.
I think it's a mix of exploring and collecting for me, in that you explore caves and endless landscapes and search for ores and minerals, as well as trying to craft all the recipes and collect all unique items, which requires you to search for dungeons.
And I haven't even started to build minecarts and tracks, as I barely have enough iron to craft me my basic tools.
I think in the future, the planned adventure mode will cater a lot to the exploring & collecting fans.
Also, I think there should be constant updates (weekly or monthly) with more or less added content (recipes and items), so that you can always continue your search for new stuff.
