Desk surface is VIKA AMON in black and the legs are VIKA CURRY in white.
Wow, really?! Looks like it should be nearer the £200 mark or something ... though that could be something to do with the technology sitting on it, making it look more, erm, impressive.Microwave wrote:
Mine was only cheap from IKEA. It's just 2 desks, not a special corner one.
Desk surface was £35, each leg was £2. Cheeeeeap
Thank you kindly.Microwave wrote:

Haha, yeah, well a full corner desk with that style would be that kinda price. But I just bought 2 normal desks and put them in an L.
Easy
Easy
front left table leg ruins itMicrowave wrote:

Yeah, it does a bit. Could do with attaching the two desks together (to give support) and then taking that leg out, or perhaps moving it to somewhere else to give a bit of support somewhere if possible.
That's exactly what I'm going to do. Metal support between the 2 tables, take the leg off.
You will feel the difference. But the whole thing looks sexyMicrowave wrote:

Doesn't look quite as good as James setup but it's a big improvement from what I had
Table top = $39.99
Each leg = $5
Table top = $39.99
Each leg = $5
MASSIVE improvement.
Nice ebug! You were fast getting that desk!!

I had nothing better to do today. I get to work tomorrow to pay it off

It brings back good memories looking back 4 years ago at what used to be an amazing rig. My how technology has progressed, it's amazing!

4 hours of cable management later...
I used to think the P182 had nice cable management until I got the new PSU in. Now it sucks. In any case, I think it's pretty tidy now.
As for specs:
i7 930
3x2GB G.Skill DDR3-1600 7-6-7-24
XFX 5870
Asus P6T SE Mobo
Corsair 850W
2x 1TB + 1x 320GB HDDs
Everything's stock for now, I'm in cooling limbo while I figure out what old stuff is being sold, otherwise I'll just take my old AC Accelero and put it on the 5870, and maybe even the F7P since the P6T SE has LGA775 cooling mounts. It'll probably cool past what the mobo can do in terms of an OC anyways..
Funny enough, the x-Fi down there is only being used for a mic. I've been using an external DAC/headphone amp and neither the onboard audio nor the x-Fi itself can handle the digital out and analog in, so I'm stuck with using both.

Stock HSF? Ouch..
Aside from that, nice rig. Get pics of your desk and such too.

@GC_PaNzerFIN: isn't that dangerous for the corners of your processor, or is that how its done these days?
Have you ever seen the paste pattern on a default Intel processor cooler?Tdog2007 wrote:

Three tiny lines in the middle formed like a circle...

Your thoughts, insights, and musings on this matter intrigue me
nope
I'm digging that chassis' cable routing. What's it called? (too lazy to look it up)
That is Intel stock cooler's paste pattern, it is not dangerous. The Megahalems spreads it over most of the CPU in square, boxed forms almost perfect circle.Tdog2007 wrote:

I don't spread the paste in advance, that is how you get air bubbles. I put 9 really tiny dots on the IHS, spreads evenly when the heatsink pushes against CPU.

Too bad the side window is shaped funny. I like the rest, though.GC_PaNzerFIN wrote:
