it's not very good.
i enjoyed bc1 for xbox. this feeels... clunky...
so far the only thing that works is the physics system, much to the disadvantage and ZOMG WTF of the rest of the game. movement is clumsy and bulky and feels as responsive as it should feel if you were controlling your character with analogue joysticks (xbox, anyone?). guns and weapons are pretty dire but they're the first-level unlocks, so im not judging. graphics really isn't great per-performance. i know it's a new engine, untested and unoptimized etc.etc. but really. to even play the game smoothly on an average old machine (q6600 oc'd, 4gb ddr2, 8800gtx sli) i had to put everything on low with 2xAA/FSAA. anything else and the movement would just feel even more impaired. just not really impressed... it doesn't grab me at all. another casual-friendly game that will maintain a respectable userbase of easily impressed gamers, no doubt. but certainly no revolution.
oh and FUCK the MW2-boycotters for saying 'YAY BC2 HAS DEDICATED SERVERS'. so far the worst thing by a long mile in this game is the lag. every server (even ones i join stating pings ~15ms) experience mega lag-spikes and descend into unplayability within the first 5 minutes. constant complaints. first day... i know... beta... i know... but it's especially crappy.
my $0.02 after 30 minutes play on 4 different servers, trying all sorts of graphics settings.

Getting shitty speeds, any good direct links?
it's similar to left 4 dead (2) only even more extreme. feels very offputting and disorientating. hard to play 'well' when it feels like your character is obese or overburdened with 500kg of gear on his back. add a little LOT of lag to the general gaming experience which creates weird 'sliding' and jumping about everywhere, and you've got a pretty impossible-to-play first person experience.

The beta runs for a month. Much time for Dice to make changes and improvements.
Once they get the "Submit Feedback" part of the beta running maybe you should suggest what they could improve Uzi, instead of raging about it.

This is DICE, I have very little faith in them to actually take my criticisms seriously. BF2 post 1.2, BF2142, BF heroes, BF1943, they make casual games, I don't see that changing.
They did make 130 changes after the Ps3 beta, based on community feedback.

Ok, so first impressions :
The menu + ingame interface are absolutely horrible. The spawn/squad menu feels like it's been ported directly from the console version. Gimme my Caps Lock Squad + Map menu nao.
The map is pretty fucking dumb. It feels like Jalalabad 32/64 IO pubs aka a snipe fest. I haven't seen anyone active the bomb or whatever you're supposed to do.
Also, the two servers I played on were incredibly laggy. I was getting teleported all over the map.

So yeah, I'm just gonna say Infantry movement isn't as bad as I thought it would be. Also pistols are epic.

Still looks meh with max settings. After about an hour I started getting used to it, but it has that 2142 vibe. Also feels pretty beta-ish and not having prone sucks pretty hard. After that the textures went berserk.

Second, if you think fun in online multiplayer FPS games isn't entirely based on competition, try this: Lose every single time. Never get a kill, never complete an objective, never win at anything. Then see how much of your mystical fun you're having.

Saying that you can make any game into a "pro" style competitive format. Any game in the world. I don't subscribe to the idea that certain things need to fufill criteria in order to be considered "proper", if you understand me. The whole notion of there being games being designed for casuals and thus being impossible for the "pro" gamer is just bullshit really. IMO.

no matter how much your crying about it...its not going to change anything and bfbc2 will remain a casual game as all of the other bf titles
