Erm.. Can't think of one off the top of my head. You can buy a bench for like $40, not exactly very expensive.

@ sonder - I'll get pics up next week.
These are the benches on the Rebel Sport (our big sporting stores) website - http://www.rebelsport.com.au/ecom/rebel … px?cat=192

The cheapest one isn't that cheap tbh ><

IMO 90% of home workout equipment is shit.  Just get a gym membership.  One crappy bench will be equal to five months of gym membership and youll get pro equip.

Wow. Did a killer workout today (for my standards, lol).

Managed to do 4*8 SLOW dips without any assistence Also started the squats back up again, slowly. I have very weak knees (too weak, actually..) so I'm doing it really slow. I think I got my posture right, but there's about a million vids on youtube that supposedly show me the 'right' posture, so I'm not sure.. Also, putting the bar in my neck makes it hurt a bit.. What do you guys do to fix that, a small towel?

Keep your back straight, try to go low enough till your thighs are at least parallel to the floor. However, i am a deep squatter, I go below parallel. Think taking a shit in teh woods without shitting on your tennies.

Most gyms have a neck roll pad... a towel would work.  I just have gotten used to the bar, wait till you start squatting heavy.  It leaves a bruise on me every week now.

Did most of your shoulder workout today.. Shrugs, lateral raises & seated rear delt flies, I forgot about the shoulder press

I disagree, you can get very very good home workout equipment. I have some.

York is fantastic home equipment - yes it has it's downers (eg Curl bar) but the rest is A+ stuff.
To be quite honest, gym memberships here are just too expensive in comparison with buying your own stuff. Here it costs approximately $115 a month for a shitty gym in the town. No thank you.

Ahhhh mang, shoulder presses are pro.  Why you think my delts are so jacked LOL, remember to take the weight all the way down till the dumbells touch your shoulder.  You'll see alot of duded going to like ear level, this is wrong.. The full range of motion is important!

For a uni gym that's about the right price around here, but for a "professional gym" it's disgustingly expensive. Uni gyms suck though - they're always full, usually of douchebags and jocks who think they're working out properly and then the stupid girls that just keep running at about 5mph for hours on end. I have no time for the young wankshafts trying to show off how strong they are in the gym. If they waste my time, I get pissed off, which is why I workout at home more.

that sucks.  I have access to all the Bally gyms in the country, professional equipment, fitness classes, a pool, basketball court, sauna, steam room, AND it only costs $26.00 a month.

My uni gym is £110 a year.

Not that I've ever actually been to the gym. Seems like a waste of money to me.

Well, it's a regular, 'professional' gym, I've got an 'all-round membership', so I can go to pretty much every single gym around here.. I'll be going to uni gyms next year though

@Sonder; Aight man, I'll do them next time

my gym is very good value because its for people that work on the science park, only £27 a month.

uni gym was £150 + u had to have sports membership but that was a pretty incredible gym + pool + massive sports halls + squash courts + astroturf hireout.

Granted, you can do a lot of exercise for free. I tried it, it's no where near as efficient as a gym membership. But i guess that depends on what you want as an end result.

The way i see it, £37 a month is about the same cost of a good meal out, a night on the piss or a day out. I don't mind paying at all.

I personally love the gym, i enjoy going, i enjoy progressing and usually it's a great atmopshere. Well, except for when it's absolutley rammed, which it will be until mid Feb and then herberts lose interest and realise you can't get massive pecs in 3 weeks.

Which is really starting to piss me off actually, theres an absolute fuck tonne of scrawny little fucks at the gym and they have absolutley no idea. Clogging up benches with exercises that don't neccesarily require that bench, or leaving their weights all over the fucking place for mugs like me to put them away. Thats the downside of going to a gym like DW, loads of facilities but there aren't many 1 to 1 staff around to ensure they are doing it right, i dread to think how many have injured themselves due to incorrect techniques when lifting. My previous gym had amazing staff, albeit the facilities weren't up to scratch and i no longer live near it.  But any help you needed, they was always there and you learnt some etiquette!

Hah, my gym is 'ran' by an older couple, they don't give a fuck-all about what you do, they're fat as hell and smoke all day long. That said, it's an awesome gym and I love going there

By the way, I'm finally getting a decent work out program set up by personal experience combined with all the exercises posted here, now it actually feels like my efforts are leading to something lol..

It's been a long time since Irish last posted here.. Anyone know what's up?
Oh, and to the guys that have a home gym, got any pictures? I love looking at them

And how is the following exercise called? I did it yesterday .. but I wasn't to sure which muscles I was precisely targetting. For example, I'd put my left hand on something stable, lean a bit over, legs stable behind each other, and bringing the weight up in 90° (arms bend a bit more when at the top..)

I have a feeling, personal fitness and weight training was just a flavour of the month for old Oisin.
