It's using the Frostbite engine which is a totally new engine DICE made. You'll figure out how well it works for the PC soon enough when 1943 is released/the BC2 beta starts. They also said they're gonna have DX11 working too for BC2.
They delayed 1943 by quite a long time just so they could optimise shit even more, or something. So they're treating it seriously so it should run quite well. The problem with the PC gaming community is that people upgrade their monitors too much. They buy 30" monitors and then expect all games to run flawlessly (constantly above 60fps) on them with a mid range card.

Hardcore mode, I remember reading that Hardcore mode was going to be the opposite of the CoD style Hardcore mode, where the weapons are weaker and shit. Looks like they've reversed that and are going down the CoD style Hardcore mode of no HUD/Stronger weapons etc..

This is a good read:For Hardcore mode, it’ll apply to all four game modes, and it’ll be no kill-cam, friendly fire is on so you can kill your own team-mate accidentally or intentionally, much more realistic damage from weapons… Basically everything will feel much more realistic and it’s focused on those intense moments; it’s going to be do or die and you’ve really got to be on your toes. There’ll also be a huge reduction in the HUD elements, so no crosshair, so if you want to aim and hopefully you’re not screen dotting, it’ll be really important to use the iron sights. Guys aren’t going to be shooting from the hip; you just can’t in reality. It’s to make it feel like a much more realistic version of Battlefield. We know there’s a group out there, and they may not be biggest but there are guys who want to experience that type of gameplay, especially from a game like Battlefield where you can have vehicles. Of course, when you do get in a vehicle, all those crosshairs and visual data is built into the game and it’s modelled from reality, just like the guns, so when you bring it up to your eye that’s what you see, and it’s the same in the vehicles. We’re not going to take away things that would make sense in the real world – I guess would be the better way to describe it. There’s nothing that would break that immersion in reality, no enemy icons, no mini-map, and this will also be a ranked game mode.

yeah, even if i had an awesome pc id still play all low except geometry, view distance, AA, etc. but a little bit of eye candy every once in a while is nice..Sup wrote:
I don't play multiplayer games on high settings anyway. If its going to be anything like BF2 then low settings will have the advantage.
Hell ya, just got my brand new computer upgraded yesterday with a better graphics card. Gonna be awesome..Sup wrote:

Shit yeah.
Shit yeah.
That looks fucking rad.
There is a single player mode?
Then it will be REALLY important that hit reg issues are not a major problem like BF2. Iron sights were mostly useless as you never hit what you scoped at half the time anyway.Mekstizzle wrote:

I've played the beta, the guns aren't as lame as they were in BF2. There's still bullet drop and all that, but there's more emphasis on controlling recoil than having to rely on random deviation. There wasn't much problem with lag/hit reg either. It seemed like a solid game.
Watched the Gametrailers TV show about BC2, the singleplayer looks great. That last clip in the trailer showing a big city on fire. I'm just wondering how they're going to incorporate the destructible environments into a big city. That'll be impressive if they do it properly.

Ho-ly shit!
I'm wondering if it has some comedy moments in this one, cos it looked more serious than the first. Also wonder how them having the gold from the original fits in.

Definitely not buying if the reg still sucks like in BF2. Hopefully the gameplay is similar to BF2 though.

Funfact: the only thing you ever did was use your CC hax and make it a super placebo effect like what EA did in 1.5 basically except yours was even more so.TehMyke wrote:

The gameplay is a tad different. Also the previous BC had a campaign but it was goofy in a way, this time it'll be serious I heard.androoz wrote:
