Holy shit. This game is getting incredible reviews everywhere.
Playing now, will get back to you guys with opinions.
EDIT: OK a couple of hours in, here are some thoughts:
1. The combat is actually a challenge. You pretty much have to set up some nice AI tactics (think of the gambit system from FFXII) unless you want to pause the game every 5 seconds to issue orders manually. Makes a very nice change, I'm getting quite bored with having to play everything on hard mode.
2. The voice acting is impressive (a lot of 'famous' voice actors), and the scripting is very good, with certain characters actually showing signs of wit
3. The storyline and plot are setting up to be pretty epic. You will actually care about a few of the characters. Although the game is looong so it's definitely not pick-up-and-play. Looking much better than Oblivion in this department anyhow.
4. There's no respec so spend those skill points wisely. Putting a little into everything will mean you'll be restarting before long.
5. The world is DEEP. A lot of lore, a lot of dialogue and the atmosphere is top notch.
6. Music is pretty awesome at times.
A few niggling nuisances: slight memory leaks, so an hour or so in you'll start noticing some longer loading times but it's nothing major.
The game is difficult- I've died a lot. It can be pretty annoying at first but you soon learn to use some proper combat tactics to get full use of your party.
