LOL $60 for the standard PC version. They have lost their fucking minds.
Well the pings on OF:DR are all above 100, and get worse as more ppl join. Including mine which is usually well below 30 on a dedicated Cod4 server.
It would be shit to keep seeing this sort of thing continue in MP.

i can understand that price for Xbox360. but $60 for a PC game without dedicated server support, that total shit ( i hate to say)iNeedUrFace4Soup wrote:

why is the inferior product more expensive?specialistx2324 wrote:

I´m torn.
I still got it preordered. On the one hand I am willing to pay a reasonable price for a SP game, on the other I feel a bit like IW spit in my face. First not releasing any Hardened or Special Edition on PC, then the dedi-server-bomb so close before release.
I´m confident that the dedi support will come later on (or should I say hopeful?) and even if not, MW SP was one of the most awesome entertainment I had in my PC gaming history. And I´m sure MW2 SP won´t dissappoint me.
I dunno

Torrent it for the sp, wait and see if they add dedi servers before you buy it.Sisco10 wrote:

Licensing fees. MS and Sony charge royalties on games sold for their system (that's why they took loses on console sales when they were first released), and the cost is pasted down to the consumer.Miggle wrote:

A developer makes just as much money from a console sale as they do a PC sale. They can actually make more is they use a service like Steam where they forgo packaging costs and Valve makes much less on each copy sold than the stores do.
Lets just hope they get their shit together ASAP and release a patch about a week into the release with dedicated server support.
noice
Did that with MW due to lack of funds. Might do it with this one too. Sounds like the cheapest way.Hallvard wrote:

I would by it solely for SP though, the main reason for me even thinking about cancelling my preorder is the way IW handled all the business. I fell kinda mistreated, like a second class customer, just because I use a PC as platform.
These made me laugh. It's Gabe and an in-game screenshot.

Apparantly its a max of 8v8 on the PC. Phail. Ok we sort of knew that since they got rid of dedicated servers but still, I dont think it can actually get much worse. Has there even been such a fall from grace since adam? This is fucking madness!
Operation Flashpoint 2 has fallen pretty far from the original, Dragon Rising is nothing but a console port.Bell wrote:

But to go from Cod4 to this pathetic game is huge.
I haven't been this disappointed since I bought Spore! lol
Wow wow wow, lets not say things we cant take backAussieReaper wrote:

There was similar bad things about CoD 2 for PC when it first came out, although there was at least dedicated servers. There was no punkbuster support, you could have skin/texture hacks with simple /console commands. It was when they introduced all the console style stuff such as the red dot gaydar, useless recoil and regen health/hit detection sounds/icons (although I personally like the health regen/hit detection sounds)
There was alot of talk on the forums about this and that, eventually the game was patched up after awhile, but it was the beginning of the sellout of CoD towards the console market. Although now I'm a fully fledged console faggot, I still have roots in PC Gaming, and I gotta admit, no dedicated servers for the PC version is retarded.
However I do think they'll eventually bring it back in... maybe... probably not actually.

i think this is what consolers out there fail to realize. and i have my roots in the PC gaming area. im seriously questioning the MP quality if not doubting it. hope SP at least delivers.
do you actually believe cod has been getting worse from the get go?specialistx2324 wrote:

I thought you were expecting CoD6 to be the best game ever...
Granted we can select what pinged server range we want to join with our friends in a party, I want to pick the EXACT server I want to play and be able to admin who I want to play with.
"Raise the flag high! Let the degenerates know who comes to claim their lives this day!"
has COD got better, in terms of settings , and story possibly. Besides back then i could not stand the fact playing in another WWII era all over again. 1,2,3 were WWII and 4 was modern times which is a nice change in pace. i stopped playing COD4 because i have done enough in that game already. and i played COD4 just as long as BF2 ( 18+ months).Miggle wrote:

i do not know what will happen when COD MW 2 will come out. especially when me and my friends are upset of their dedicated server decision.
right now im just going to sit in the back of the fence and wait what happens. if MP fails i hope that SP makes up for it.
If it was like this.
Free DLC
Dedicate server support
No match making
Server list
Mod able
You could happily charge the extra 10$ for it but when you remove, modding, server list, dedicated server support, large player battles, charge for map packs you have no damn right to charge the extra 10$ on it.
I wonder who thought it was a good idea to begin with?
I really want to play the game though but due to this...I'm not so sure anymore. I can still get it cheaper from a site than it would cost the console players.
So in Sweden we haven't seen a 10$ price increase at all. In fact it's like 20$ sale on it now.
