I just want to see what you all think of random crits after TF2 has been out for so long. I've hated them since the beta and still do. Randomly winning or losing fights has no place in any game ever.
As a typically soldier oriented player, having crit rockets can do some serious damage hitting groups of enemy, but when you have no idea your next rocket is a crit it always sucks seeing one miss (i'll often aim at someones feet to juggle them for the kill).
Fucking hate them to bits.
However, once I was playing pyro as red in dustbowl in the tunnels. There were 3 fuckers, a soldier and two others, I think they were pyros. The soldier shot a crit, and I deflected it back and killed the 3.
I thought it was pretty

"Do people still love random crits?"
I don't recall anyone ever saying they loved them. In my opinion, in 'normal' gamemodes like CTF, CP, PL etc, they're fine. They can be annoying, but they can help break through places you wouldn't otherwise be able to and stuff. But in Arena. No no no. No way.

I haven't played much TF2 but in an fps (though I use that term loosely) random critical hits sounds retarded.
I really don't mind them too much for the most part. Sometimes it works in your favour and sometimes against.
I do hate that they are in sudden death and arena. Those two modes should have crits disabled by default.

The fact that 90% of servers have crits on tells different.Spidery_Yoda wrote:

And to OP, no, they rage me.

crit rockets always connect for me. then again it's annoying getting cut down by a crit anything. i don't mind them; i'd rather have them on than off.

Well I'd just assume that that's because 90% of servers don't bother changing any of the the default settings.DeathUnlimited wrote:

They're an operative and substantive part of mass-spam public gameplay.
Sometimes crits help open windows and opportunities that would otherwise just be bogged down under the sheer number of defenders/opponents, or their sentries and camping medic combos.
Also lol at your "since Beta" comment, Lucien.

What I hate is random damage you can face off against someone and they do 100% damage and you do the min 75% and lose out of bad luck crits are ok cause their rare enough and often help break defensive lines.
a little spice never hurtLucien wrote:

the spice must flow.
I do love launching a crit rocket at the cart when 6 or so enemy are pushing it.

Exactly, i'm pretty sure Gabe said this himself in an interveiw somewhere. You just said it a little bit better I guess.Uzique wrote:
