Oh yeah, I must've forgotten that one mission = the whole game being calm and quiet

again, why did you love MGS4 so much then with it's extremely long cutscenes? makes no sense, but then again we've come to expect that from you now haven't we
I never said that the whole game was calm, in fact I said it didn't fit with the rest of the game, which was largely action.

I also never said I don't like calm games, I merely said CoD4 wasn't one.

And I don't love MGS4 so much, I played through it once and haven't touched it since. I enjoyed the plot, which is why the cutscenes were enjoyable.

Why can't you ever keep a debate to the debate, does it always have to go personal?
and the developers never said the game is all action/fast paced/high intensity either, so I don't see what you're bitching about

and i also love the irony Migs, very enjoyable, would buy from again A+++++++++ seller
Irony... Because I always call you a troll...

Anyways, let's imagine for a moment that you are watching an action movie, let's say Die Hard, but then for a scene they take you into the life of a bum watching the news about the hostage situation.

That scene doesn't fit with the rest of the movie, it feels out of place.

I'm not sure why the developers have to call it an action game for it to be one, it was gunfight after gunfight, which to me is action.

Or how about the scene where he walks across glass? That didn't really fit into the rest of the movie now did it? According to your logic, atleast.

Was the AC-130 mission about killing insurgents/the enemy? Yes. Did it have to do with Modern Warfare? Yes. Did it have to do with the military? Yes. And yet just because it wasn't a high intensity mission, it didn't fit? What, you want a completely linear game? You make no sense whatsoever.

Is that supposed to make that fun and exciting? How about MW2 has a level where I decapitate an innocent U.S. citizen, I've seen that too.
it's not supposed to be some fast paced, high intensity mission, that's the point

it's supposed to have a "cool" factor and allow people to step into the shoes of the people in that video (the ones not on the recieving end, atleast)...

not all video games have to be fast paced and have constant intensity, being an MGS4 fan you should know that
But that was what cod4 was, up until that point. It didn't fit with the rest of the game at all.

If I wanted a calm, quiet game I would play something else.

I don't really care about being an AC130 gunner, not that I don't enjoy being a Plane Gunner, games that allow you to gun in WWII bombers tend to be more fast paced, intense, and enjoyable.
Well, yeah it did fit into the game. You play the role of the FCO of the same plane that was referenced in the earlier mission and you protect the people in that mission. It adds a new perspective to the game, and blowing the crap out of people and cars with 20mm, 40mm and 105mm guns is tremendous fun.

It was linear...

It was a slow point in a generally fast paced game, it took a lot away from the intensity of the game, which is why I say it was boring. It wasn't the type of mission I play CoD to get. It felt like a slightly interactive cutscene, which from your views of MGS4, it sounds like you hate. So maybe neither of us makes any sense.

Anyways, it's all opinion based, and since IIRC you want to join the air force, I'm not surprised you enjoyed being in the shoes of an AC-130 gunner.

the game is called Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare not Call of Duty 4: Intensive Fucking Gameplay

although that would be a pretty cool title

I don't think they could get away with that. But I don't really understand how you can debate that the rest of the game was a lot more action oriented than Death from Above.

not all of it was though, I mean there's quite a wide spread in action in between missions like War Pig and All Ghillied Up

Not sure what you're thinking about on war pig, but what I'm thinking of on all ghillied up is the times you crawl around to avoid detection, and in those it's still fairly tense the first time you go through. You still have to be on top of your game, keeping out of sight, avoiding guards, there's still a threat.

I think the important thing about DFA is that there is no danger, nothing can hurt you, you don't have to do anything.

Well that's because DFA wasn't really supposed to even be a real mission, it's like I said, it was thrown in for the "cool" factor and the fact that those thermal vids get a lot of views and attention

and it's probably why DFA had a pretty short length

Well in All Ghillied up there might not be constant action, but there is much, much tension. One of the things CoD4 did well was that in the few times there wasn't action, there was tension that builds up to the action.

Death From Above had neither, it just had white dots and puffs of smoke.

The whole 4 hours of the single player was fucking linear tbh, the 130 mission made a nice break from the norm & should be played as that; a break from the monotonous grind of the whole 4 hours of the single player missions. IW didn't cover themselves in glory with the single player missions, i hope that they put a whole lot more effort into the game play & length of the single player rather than concentrating on the overall aesthetic.
