Who would want to leave Florida to go back to Charlotte?
I'm also sure that JJ got laid (hard hehe) last night...who would want to leave a good, quiet peacefull hotel/motel screw just after winning THE most pretigeous championship in the US?Strngs012 wrote:
Hey I got to talk to Gordons hauler driver to day on the cb, he said it was a hell of party last night. He also said the 48 hauler might not leave So Florida till tommorow. It must've been a great party!
Besides...Chanti isnt That bad...I wouldnt kick her out of bed, but I'll bet that ass is rather thin when bent over
Ah well, God knows they deserve it, these boys give up one hell of a lot to do what they do.
I say "Party on dudes!!" ehehe
With the "No testing" policy next season, I'm sure Rick will have them all on a short leash for a while
Yeah, tell me about it. I just read this morning that Bobby Hamilton Racing (truck team, some long time Cup fans may remember his "glory days" at Morgan Mclure in the 4 car...) is shutting down after 10 years of operation, and sometimes absolute dominance of the truck series.phishman420 wrote:
Not lookin' good.
Hendrick Motor Sports is laying folks off...JR motor sports is cutting numerous jobs. The 5 car has only a very limited schedule next year (oh Nationwide series 5 car hehe) and Jr. and Mark Martin were (and still are afaik) supposed to drive it. Damn, if sponsors wont grab on to THAT combination, there are major problems.
Then, there is the merger of DEI and Gnassi...hell-ov a lot of folks are gonna lose jobs there. I predict we may sometimes in 09' be looking at a struggle to get full fields in Cup or Nationwide. And its only gonna get worse imo.
But ya' know, when you look at it from this perspective: Stewart/Haas...(heheh gotta love Tony for his stones atm...) with all these folks getting laid off/discharched it leaves a nice pool of good people to choose from, that may be willing to work for just a bit less than this time last season.
This may help that fledgling team do well next year.
NASCAR and most of these teams have been living /working in HUGE excess the past 10 years or so (moreso recently), so, just like any other industry its due for a trim I think.
I hate to see it, but its a product of the times. Most if not all other major sports organizations are facing the same problems.
Heard about GM and Tiger Woods parting company? They say it was amicable...who knows really...
But the fact is, with Toyota in Cup now, No domestic mfg. can afford to abandon NASCAR...it has somewhat become a matter of national pride. And GM has more to lose in Cup than Ford or Dodge imo, so it makes sense to focus on whats singularly best...as far as advertising. I hear rumor that Dodge may "cut back", but we'll see.
With no testing, sponsorship issues and mergers, next season will be interesting.
Edit: lmao hehe timing is everything I JUST found this at nascar.com :

Its even affecting broadcasters it seems...

When it rains...it pours. But this is of her own making if you ask me. Here, read the latest debacle in the DEI story:
http://nascar.speedtv.com/article/cup-h … ation-fee/
damnit...I used to love Tereasa Earnhardt, now...I just have contempt for the bitch.
It seems that with the merger of Ginn and DEI earlier this year, there was to be a couple of "contract termination payments" made to Hendrick for the cancelling of an engine contract that Ginn had. A 1.75million payment was to have been made in July of 08'. It was made on time. Then another payment for 1.5 million on or before Nov. 15 08'...it wasnt paid.
Now, Hendrick is sueing DEI for 1.5million (the amount of the last payment)...they (HMS) will win this, it seems to be very clear cut, and I dont see Rick sueing another team on an "iffy" case.
1.5 million bucks is a HUGE chunk out a teams budget, this is gonna further DEi's slide into obscurity...
God Dale, I'm soooo sorry for what she has done to your team. Rest in peace my friend...
Yeah, rest knowing your wife has fucked your vision so badly that it may never come back, and WILL never be what it once was...
so damned sad...

was fucking stupid mid season of 07'...its even dumber now.
I mean geezus, you've got teams begging for sponsors and cant get'em to stay all season, or even begin a relationship. Then you've got AT&T, that WANTS to stay in the series and cant because of fucking idiotic "exclusivity rights" that Brain France said grace over...he'll be the death of NASCAR as we know it. I'll wager money on that. It may take another 10-15 years, but it'll happen, of that I am sure.
*afterthought*
Or...
He'll become another Bernie Ecclestone and be so damned greedy and self serving that its disgusting.
The shit just keeps comming today...joy...

So who won this season? Was it Toyota, I hope it was Toyota
Nah mate, Chevy won the Mfg's title, the drivers championship and the owners championship. Toyota had one hell of a year tho, no doubt about that...granted there was a bit more rule violations with them (Toyota based teams).Mekstizzle wrote:

They are here to stay, no doubt, and will eventually win all of the above mentioned championships...of that, I am sure.
And screw you btw, for wanting Toyota to win hehe :p
edit: to answer your question directly...Jimmie Johnson won his 3rd consecutive Drivers title, a feat not accomplished in about 30 years.

I ain't American, it's only natural for me to want the only non-American manufacturer/team in the Cup to win
Plus Chevrolet/Ford and Dodge suck overall anyway
Well not Dodge
But they're a part of Cheverolet anyway

At least it was last time I checked.
Oh yeah, I got confused between Chrysler and Chevrolet

37 days, 21 hours. Gonna be a wild season. Anyone been catching the "NASCAR 39/10" on speed?
I've been too enveloped in football to pay much attention to anything else. What has been going on?TC.Troy wrote:

omg ig
hehe
silly season has been more like stupid season.
Ray Evernham has sold his interest in GEm and bought a dirt track in North Carolina.
Elliot Sadler (signed a multi-year contract extention back in May) has been released from the 19 car in favor of AJ Almedinger. Sadler is now suing GEM for his ride back. He (Sadler) found this out from his sponsors. Announcements were made at the shop, but they failed to notify Elliot.
Petty Enterprises is gone...merged with GEM. The new team is rumored to be called Richard Petty Racing. We'll see...
As posted earlier (3 weeks ago) DEI is dead, merged with Gnassi...no word on the name of the new team.
Testing has been banned. Period.
Dodge is in danger of dropping all involvement in NASCAR, they have already dropped the truck series.
Bristol Motor Speedway is the highest selling track bar none.
Talladega has dropped the price of a ticket by 40%.
Tommy Baldwin will have his own Cup team in 09'
http://www.nascar.com/2009/news/headlin … index.html
Bill Davis has sold his team and engine company:
http://www.nascar.com/2008/news/headlin … index.html
The Bud Shootout will be an abomination this year. The entry criteria have changed. Brian France is just an asshole really.

This is just the crap I can readily think of...

Seems Elliot got his wish, and/or somebody at the new GEM woke the hell up...
Just found this:
http://www.nascar.com/2009/news/headlin … index.html
I'm glad Elliot is to stay in the 19. He's not the best driver, could do better in better equipment imo, but thats beside the point.
Imo, if he had a contract, they need to honor it.
Maybe they will put AJ "walldinger" Almendinger in the 10...let his punk ass work to get in the top 35, and lure a good/full time sponsor. Its gratification really, all these open-wheelers comming. Let them earn their way in, the rest of those guys did, one step at a time essentially. And while I'm on the subject... I hope Sam Hornish puts his tail between his legs and goes running back to IRL. I was tired of his wrecking, no driving ass last season. I really dont wanna see how many different ways he can shred a perfectly good racecar again.
had to add that hehe
Glad to see it

Can't wait til February, bring on Nascar baby! Yeah! Woohoo!
Once again, DEI/Gnassi have dropped the ball.
They might have saved some sponsors, perhaps even brought another or 2 to the team by getting Bobby Labonte to drive a car this season.
Seems they are a bit late, and or strapped.
Doug Yates has formed an alliance with HoF racing (the 96 DLP ride) and...
*drum roll*
Yates has landed Labonte.

Have they dug the hole for whats left of DEI yet?
geezus...

The shootout is now a test session for the big names only. The changes really screwed over the little teams who can really use the practice time from guys like Nemechek earning a pole. Both Tony Stewart and Bobby Labonte got in on the last minute rule changes.
It will be an intesting season. I hope Tony wins a race or two, but it's doubtful as he has a realistic shot at the 4 restrictor plate and 2 road course tracks. The short tracks who knows.
I hope Bobby Labonte makes the chase, and just to piss everyone off I hope Kyle Busch wins the Cup.

Heads up gents, the season is close
On the Camaro...
Glad to see the thing out in public. Now we'll see if its as hot as it implies hehe. I just hate that they will paint it up and screw up the view...
