Hey guys,

Right so I don't want to download COD5 illegally for free so I want to try Steam.

It won't let me register and says that "Account could not be created, please try again later". So I tried every hour since, with the same error.

So I say hey, why not Direct2Drive? So I get all my info in, and everything works, then when I press "Purchase" it says, "Country Restricted".

I'm not buying it here because it's too expensive (109fr.) and there's no way I'm getting it even if I had the money since it would be in French.

In easier words.... HELP ME PLEASE!

Thanks...

I have heard that you need directx 9. are you using vista? at least thats something to look into. My brother told me about that let me get ahold of him and see what he said.

this is something from my clans web pages hope it helps.

Below is a FULL PACKAGE DIRECT X link, this contains ALL verisons of Direct X and may clear up any kind of "Unexpected error: dX9_0.dll" failed to open" type of error, itll also keep your Direct X files updated for the time being to keep you in the game.

I had to get this package after I bought Call of Duty World at War, even though Vista has DX10, It wouldnt run because I needed DX9.0c.

Hope this helps someone maybe...

OK thanks, but the problem isn't Installing it. It's finding a site I can download it from. Or is that what you meant?

If you want I can make you an account, PM you the details and then you can change the password or whatever.

Thanks but I really don't care what the username or password is, so long as you send it to me via PM

Thanks alot

If you could do it within the next 3 hours that'd be great cause I'll be at school. Then When I'm back I can download COD5   Otherwise when you have the time...

On a serious note though, why donĀ“t you purchase it via amazon (.de/.co.uk/whatever swizzending is). Might be cheaper and theres no stress with registration.

Steam remembers every game you've ever purchased so you can easily redownload/reinstall the game whenever you want.

I think of it as a remote-storage service for all my games, so I don't have to find the disc or bother going through a lengthy installation process Just right-click and redownload/reinstall the game whenever I feel like playing it. Saves hard-drive space too!

Hardcopy sent to you. I still prefer it that way, mostly because I LOVE those carboard boxes and a printed manual. Too bad it gets rare too these days.

Yes but theres something in my head that says "hard copies are win".

lol i like hardcopies (on steam) because i have 15 steam games.... and downloading them all again when putting them on news computers etc would be a massive pain in the ass. since ill be doing that in about 5 days im glad i have hardcopies (oh and my internet sucks- 1500- so yer...)

there's always the option of downloading an iso and having someone buy the game in the US and sending you the CD-key
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
