Indeed, per the math, its possible that the 99 could win it. But, be honest, do you rrreeeelly see the 48 screwing up that bad at Homestead?phishman420 wrote:

Anything is possible. It doesn't have to be his fault.TC.Troy wrote:

In other news/opinion/bullshit (take your pic):
The truck race tonight will be one to watch. Johnny Benson (23 Exide Batteries Tundra) has a whole 3, yes three point lead over Ron Hornaday (33 Camping World Chevy)...after 25 races, just a 3 point lead. The 33 needs to finish 3 spots ahead of the 23 to win it. During final practice last night the 23 has some pretty serious issues. JB almost lost the truck twice, and only made about 10 laps during the whole hour of practice.
The nose of the 33 was Glued to the track, that truck looks great...it has an awesome coil-bind setup. Will be a great race to watch.
Three champs to be crowned this weekend...dont leave your set...they are the last races we will get till February (march if you enjoy F1...)

There is some hope for Carl. He qualified 4th and JJ qualified 30th. As much as I don't care for Cousin Carl I hope he wins the championship because I'm sick of JJ.
What has he done that makes you dislike him so much?
Yeah it's sad, but hey what can you do. The big guy is gone and I wonder what he would've done in this situation. You look at all the success Richard Petty had and now look at Petty Enterprises and where there at with majority ownership belonging to someone else.TC.Troy wrote:

The lack of punishment for cheating at Daytona qualifying a couple of years ago. Going to the back for your qualifying race is not punishement when your gauranteed a spot for being in the top 35 to start with.phishman420 wrote:

Now that is sad. Teresa has put the final nail in the coffin she's been building this year. Montoya in a Chevy hmmm, that could be interesting.TC.Troy wrote:

How funny would it be if Carl spun Jimmie out?
Even if he did that, Carl still has to win ...
I'm well aware.Stingray24 wrote:

Wouldn't be half bad to see Tony win his last one w/ Gibbs.
Props to Jimmie, Chad, and the 48 team on their history making day. 3 peat baby! Chevy ftw!
Congrats to Jimmie on a fucking amazing accomplishment.
One hell of a race...one hell of a season.
Congratulations Jimmie, Chad, the whole 48 team.
3 in a row...wow...
Tbh, I have never cared for Jimmie...I've always been a Chad Knaus fan. This season, particularly in the chase, Jimmie has shown me some things in his personality (ie how he handles all this) and his driving ethic. I must say, it may be time to begin gathering some 48 gear. I've always said about these younger guys (including Jeff Gordon hehe) that they will get my full respect and support when they win 7 titles, I'll consider them a "great" driver when they do something "great"...
Well, JJ and the 48 team have shown me some "great" things.
Perhaps its fitting that DEI has fallen, and Jr may forever be just a mediocre driver (how many times have we said "he NOT his daddy" ? ). Consider me a 48 fan from here on. I'm not bandwagoning guys, just acknowledging the accomplishment and the result.
Its been a great year, its been great reading and participating in this thread with you gents. I've looked forward to it, I've been pissed off, I've laughed, I've been exposed to some different views, and opinions, all of which I may not agree with, but I respect (well...mostly hehe).
Enjoyed it guys, lets start one again in February, just before Daytona.

Well said, well said. Looking forward to next year.
Agreed with Troy. Let's hope Jr. is more than mediocre next year.

To Jimmie:
Good one, Chief.

Have to admit I can't figure that out either.TC.Troy wrote:

Hey I got to talk to Gordons hauler driver to day on the cb, he said it was a hell of party last night. He also said the 48 hauler might not leave So Florida till tommorow. It must've been a great party!
