While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

My new build, first one ever actually, was a very easy job. I'm not a fan(no pun intended) of the CPU fan I bought though, my options were limited believe me. And I should have got a modular PSU, ah well it's all a learning experience am i rite?
Old ass Dell's floppy drive came in very handy when I had to update the bios before the comp would boot, I'm glad it was such an easy process.
P5N-D:Mobo
E8500:CPU
Some Asus CPU fan
Tagan 700 Watt:PSU
OCZ 8500 Reaper 2x1GB : Ram
Antec 900 : Case (which I must say aesthetically I like very much, not the biggest case around and it's a Mess inside with all the PSU cables.)
So there I go, my first ever build.

Intel Core i7 CPU 920 @ 4GHz || 3x2 GB OCZ 1600Mhz DDR3 || 80GB Intel X25-M Gen 2 || KFA2 GTX 480 1536Mb ||| Samsung T220 || Xonar DX 7.1 || AV 40 || P6T Deluxe V2 || Win 7 HP 64 Bit || Lian Li P80
I went with P45 over the X38/X48 for better 45nm OCability and lower price. Running the GPUs in a x8/x8 config doesn't hurt performance, no need for x16/x16
The PSU case is huge because the PSU is huge. The server is getting the new 850W PSU. The 750W that's in there currently works perfectly fine, but at this load it's a little loud for my taste. The new raptoxx psu took care of that problem.
I can only recommend raptoxx. Solid performance, pretty quiet and affordable. I only have 2 gripes with them. The 850W unit is huge, the 500W has cables that are a little too short for my taste
After working a bit with the P182, I gotta say that this is an awesome case. I only wish the left pannel would be easier to put on if you route a lot of cables behind the mobo.
@smuder
Welcome to the club of e8400 owners. What stepping did you get?
You got a P5Q not a P5Q PRO.
You'll need to OC the ram to get your CPU above 3.6GHz
Should be a fun bundle
@Irish
Great rig
How come you bought the E8500? The price increase over the e8400 isn't worth it imo.

I coulda just used the CPU fan to overclock that little bit, but I never taught of it tbh.
