Getting unlocks like crazy?

This is probably a really newbish question ... but it's confusing me.

Has 2142 always given out unlocks for getting badges or ribbons? Or is this a recent thing, or just since I've become a Warrant Officer? Because I've been getting unlocks like crazy all of a sudden with this slew of badges and stuff I've gotten, but I just can't remember it ever happening before.

Anyone?

Did you recently purchase Northern Strike? Because you get a unlock for every NS badge/ribbon you earn.

You do get points when getting pins/ribbons/badges which helps with ranking up.

He is referring to unlock points, not the career points. But anyway...

It´s because of northern strike. You get one or two just because you own it, if I remember right and unlike vanilla you achieve more of those by getting the badges and ribbons that come exclusively with ns.

It´s because of northern strike. You get one or two just because you own it, if I remember right and unlike vanilla you achieve more of those by getting the badges and ribbons that come exclusively with ns.

The highlighted part is incorrect. There are two NS badges (bronze, silver, gold x 2 = 6 unlocks) and there's 4 NS ribbons (4 unlocks). That's a total of 10 unlocks and there are exactly 10 new items that come with NS (2 for every class + player ability + squad leader thingy).

that, with the added ranking up (because of the large sum of points you gain while you are getting the badges), it's quite possible to get 3-4 unlocks in one round

Yea, but to get 3-4 unlocks in a single round, you REALLY gotta be busting ass in multiple classes. I'll give you TWO unlocks per round at best. I've yet to see anyone good enough to pull 3-4 off with the kind of points and shit you would require. Unless you just start a brand new account up and you're fucking Jesus.
