I wish I could help you, but I honestly have no idea what would be causing the problem, let alone a possible solution for it.

You have exactly the same problem as I had!
reinstalling, other GPU drivers don't work, and BF2 just keeps crashing whenever you try to connect an online server.
My topic on BF2s didn't gave me an solution, while talking on xfire told me to delete the "battlefield 2" folder under "My documents" and that worked.
So try doing that first, It worked for me
