I've found myself playing AA more and more once I got bored with 2142. If you've played it in the past, yes, it's still AA. If you haven't, think project reality mod. But they have added a few new features such as New HUD, Slightly Enhanced Graphics, Co-Op Maps, and a Map Editor. The map editor looks promising since it's designed so you can make your own Co-Op maps, and submit them for approval to become the next public released co-op map. Some of these features came out in 2.6, but there's been quite a few updates in the past couple months I thought i'd just include them.

That is the game. I dont know if they have a mac version, I haven't come across one.

My computer barely runs 2.8 on low well enough to average 40 fps. it'll be nice on the new engine, but not until i get a new pc

I hate AA. It was just horrible, I can't understand how anyone would play it for more then a week.

you must be a fast paced FPS player. AA is designed to use actual tactics, not gung-ho stuff. its for people with patience, remember it was adopted by the US army for a reason.

SF training was easy... just time consuming. It took about 45 minutes to do the 2nd SF mission.

As of right now the only 2 places you can drive a humvee are in training, and in the coop map Snakeplain. Its a lot of fun to use the grenade launcher mk19 i think it is.. driving around launching nades blowing up armor...

I agree. The only parts where I got stuck were:

1. The searchlight that covers almost the entire width of the valley. I crawled right next to the rocks, but got caught twice for moving at the wrong instant.
2. There seems to be a glitchy spot when you get out of the water near the extraction point. I was stuck for a minute.

I had problems too.

For Spotlight A at that first bridge, you just go to the right of the bridge, and follow the valley to the right and you'll be fine. it's longer, but the easiest way.

Checkpoint A is the hardest one on that mission. the other 2 are easy.

Hm. tried it for a week (non co-op back then) and decided i got pwned too much and I didn't like the style of gameplay. I'm not gung-ho but this was too slow-paced, die and wait 10 minutes until the last of your team is dead then die again in the opening 10 seconds-style for me.

it's deffinetly a diffrent pace, if you run in there like john wayne thinking its bf2 you will get rocked.

i did that sf mission in sub 10 minuites cause my comp crashed the game afther 10 mins so i ran it and i completed it funny enuff i did it for my friend as well

2.8 is really laggy for me.

On 2.6 i was fine but 2.8 takes 5 min to start up,5 min to connect to a server,then it's like having a ping of 500 on BF2.

There is currently a problem with punkbuster. There have been 3 PB updates this week alone. Since one update a while back, there has been MASSIVE lag issues. Thats why there's been so many follow up PB updates to try and correct it.

Also, you need to re-check your video settings. 2.8 tries to force stuff higher then it really should be.

If you see jumpy lag in game, you should be able to do a dumpcache and flush in your console, and it should go away. Most of the PB lag is fixed if you do this everytime you join a server.

lol i played it for about 1 week and then after that i got a bit bored, the penalties for tk's are very harsh too.

but when i did play my fav maps were: Pipeline and Snake Plain.
