We should get a MP game going lilz.
i just like the story a bit. and it is a hot genre in gaming. Did not jump into the Multiplayer Bandwagon though. cant stand noobs jumping 30 feet in the air only to have a rocket shoved down my throat.
I disagree, The Silent Cartographer was the best.Poseidon wrote:
You know, in all honesty, I have no idea what draws me to it. I mean, I love sci-fi shit, but Halo just drew me in the first day I played it when the original Xbox launched. Perhaps it's the whole "super soldier" thing, and the advanced marines segment...I don't know.
All I know is, Assault on the Control Room = best leval evar
I hope they redo Halo someday for a next-gen console. They did that with MGS1 so it's only fair.

I remember right before you gotta use the pop-up bomb, Baz said something about how he is happy that they gotta go running around a hostile planet instead of drinking Gin and everyone else just stared at him angrily.
Funny-ass game, also I loved the JetPack.

It's all based around friends. The ability to play with friends and send invites is really cool.
Once you get ingame you get 5 sec of running around before the blast of action happens.
Your never not fighting.
And its just fun.
Im a halo fan by heart
Halo is a game you either hate or you love.
yeah its really fun with friends, I still play that even over the newer games, cod4 or frontlines because my brothers at college play/ and their friends so that is really fun, and even though some of them suck it is still fun
Good campaign mode (apart from the WTF ending of Halo 2)
Good music
Good graphics (esp Halo 1 at the time)
Good plot
Good charecter development - , Cortana, Master Chief, The covanant - they all have their own deep story
(mostly) good level design
Good online support
Balanced Multiplayer
Stable Multiplayer
Few bugs/glitches
Massive fan base.
Multiplayer options
One of the first (console) games to adopt the regen health idea - no fucking searching for med packs, keep the game flowing
One of the first to involve melee and vehicles on a large scale
Lots more, but im too wired on caffiene to think clear.
I think most people who bash halo are just riding a bandwagon tbh, i've never ever met someone who played halo1 for the first time, and didn't think "WOW".
Halo is a good game, face it.
O wait, it's not BF2...

Personally, CoD4 is much better. Having played Halo, I didn't like it. BF: Bad Company has the potential to blow them both out of the water (in terms of gameplay etc.. I doubt it actually will in terms of fanbase) and BF3 should be the best mp game ever, assuming DICE learn from BF2 mistakes
Halo 3 is by far my most favourite game on the 360. The campaign, despite short, was extremely satisfying to play, the co-op was fantastic, the legendary Legendary mode was awesome too, the Theatre mode is very unique compared to other 360 games, the multiplayer - so many choices on the multiplayer, Forge is a great time waster, Bungie have just made the Heroic Map Pack free with the Legendary Map Pack being released next week for 800MP then in a few months time it will become free, and most importantly:
Bungie listen to their community

With Halo you had the flagship title of the newest company to start making consoles. It was quite a technological achievement for 2001 to have maps as big as Halo with that amount of enemies with a solid framerate. Combined with decent gameplay and good A.I. and it was a really good title.
Halo 2 was hype, hype and more hype. I would have wagered that the day Halo 2 came out, some coma patients didn't even know their own name but they knew Halo 2 was coming out. Though, its life came from mainly the ability to play online through XBL which combined with the faster action gameplay than Halo, made it a great hit.
Halo 3 was even more hype than last time and is probably our closest attempt at contacting life on other planets. It actually had substance, which is what Halo 2 failed to deliver. You have more guns, more vehicles, balanced weapons (no super nerfed pistol/shotgun or ultra powerful dual needler combination). They brought back the nice big maps of Halo which was good for old fans and the multiplayer is a lot of fun (unless you have a brain in which case you play anything but big team battle).

The only reason I really didn't like Halo 2 was because of the "Boss Battle". That's what made Halo 1 so unique...the last level was driving. In an FPS game!Fat_Swinub wrote:

I didn't like the driving as much in Halo 3's last level though. In Halo 1, it made sense.
"Blow up pillar of autumn plz or da flood gonna get our info yo", which makes sense, compared to:
"SHIT HALO'S GON' EXPLODE CUZ SOME SHIT'S OVERLOADIN"
I'll go with the first one kthxilybibuy
I imagine they did that driving section as they went back to a lot of things that people liked in Halo 1 that were absent from Halo 2, such as the large maps and the assault rifle. I didn't like the boss battle in Halo 2 either, it was really annoying that even if you had a beam rifle, you couldn't take out the guy's shields. It's not like it was hard even on legendary, it was just survival until you're allowed to get a few hits which made it boring.
sheeple
Sounds like someones just had sex with Halo 3.FatherTed wrote:

Good story tbh.
Honestly, If the halo was just a movie, or a book, it'd be just as popular imo.

Be honest, do you really think that the reason Halo is popular is because of its story? Do you think the 12-14 year old demographic really care about the story?Bulldogz wrote:

Its the reason I liked it so much.
I started playing it at 13.

The Work that Microsoft put into the commercials to Hype Everyone up and go "OMG Did you see that Halo Commercial OMG" By the time it had come out everyone had heard or scene the Commercials. Plus the fact that the messed up on halo 2 a little and rushed it.The reason why i loved it so much is that i went to 1st to 2nd,3rd i played them all so i had to play the 2nd, 3rd one too.
