Singleplayer made me cry. Srgt. Price followed me trough 2 CoD games and then he dies in the third. I wanted to beat Zakhaev to death with the grip of my Colt, but I lay wounded in front of him. Gaz and Griggs went down, too. It all happend so fast. So I emptied my clip into Zakhaev, realising I had forgotten his guards. Worth it.
Best game ever. Even better than stupid Half-Life 2 (which I bought for CS).
Forgot. I´m happy they did not use WWII scenario AGAIN. Come on, it´s done now. Modern setting is way better nowadays. Play FH2 if you want to stay in the past.

I wandered aimlessly and loaded the game several times to figured out if I could save him. I got sad when I climbed back into the small vessel and the driver aked me what happened to price? Poor sod.
Now everything comes back, I hated that mission. But it was fun hearing the Captn talk to the officer after embarking, since I am german.
But seeing him alive, I would say he survived with a severe gunshot wound as prisoner of war.

Regardless of whether or not it draws screaming kids, it still draws people. You can't fault a game because a bunch of kids like it. Hell, I can't even count how many times I ran into little immature snots in BF2.
How are the weapons on balanced? I can't think of a single weapon that is so incredibly superior than another weapon in that game. The rocket launcher can be outdone easily. So can the sword. So can the sniper rifle. Every weapon in that game has an inherent weakness...and a strength.
And why wouldn't anyone buy a 360? It's a great system with a great library of games. What are my other options? PS3 or Wii? PS3 has absolute SHIT for games right now. Yeah, the graphics may be better but it's still more expensive...and the online support is fucking horrendous. XBL is, at least in my opinion, the best online platform ever created. Now, you're right, Halo3 isn't as amazing as everyone says or thinks it is. But be fair here, it is an above average game. Did it revolutionize the gaming industry? No. But honestly, what games have?
And for the record, I'm not a Halo fan.

Call of Duty United Offensive was easily the best CoD game ever made, followed up by CoD2. Then we get cod4 which is a bf2 wannabe game which takes the concepts of balance and teamwork, and ignores them completely. With the perks system you get stuff like martyrdom, last stand (yes, when i snipe someone and they fall down to a place I cant see, it pisses me off) 3x Frag, and sonic boom, along with countless others, you get gameplay that involves mindless, skilless, and pointless killing. Add in the Airstrike and Helicopter system and shitty maps and you get pure fail.
The Single Player game has more replayability than multiplayer. It takes longer to beat the game than to get to level 55, and arcade mode allows you to play it several times without getting bored. Levels like death from above and all ghillied up give an important break from the rest of the game, and character development is wonderfully done. The ending comes almost as a surprise (i knew it was impossible to kill that fucking chopper) but it closes the game beautifully. As the first CoD game with a fictional story, it is well thought out and really involving.
Multiplayer gets a 3/10 for it's shittiness, at least it's not as bad as halo.
Singleplayer gets an 8/10 for being pro, but not as good as the half life games.
i played BF2 for a good 18 months and COD4 since it came out. i got tired of the crap that most BF2 players do on the servers on a daily basis, CTD and the list goes on and on. COD4 is a welcome change to me.
BF2 had little teamwork in the final months that i played the game

And there are no ranks in TF2, but the great thing about a rank system is that it gives you something to look forward to, something to work for, which doesn't work when you can get to the last one within a week.

The first time online play was even an option for consoles was through xbox live, and the next gens are the first ones to actually do it decently. The PS3 is $50 more than the Xbox360, it has blu ray built in, which upon googling cost $300 at lowest, making the gaming part cost $150. And if halo 3 hadn't come out and hadn't been as hyped up, i GUARANTEE that the 360 would be nowhere near as successful as it is.
And i see no way that Halo 3 is above average.
