This FPS has one of the best single player games that i have ever played. i wuld strongly recommend anyone that can to go grab a copy for at least the single player. the bot AI is amazing, and it has its scary parts too, but mainly its just fun. i would also like to add that if you dont have a decent graphics card some of the creppiness gets taken away due to the look.
I didn't find the AI to be all that amazing, in fact I found it ended up being incredible predictable. As for the creepy factor, they were trying way to hard and it cheapened the whole thing for me. I was not impressed by FEAR
amen.
the game bored me... it was like a max payne story line mixed with HL2 bad guys, and a Matrix effect shop.. not my cup of tea.

damn this game is awesome. i've beaten it once, and am going through it again on a harder difficulty to catch any snippets of the storyline i missed. great game. i love it. it takes away alot of valuable BF2 time.
bf2 pwns f.e.a.r. any day, but i guess, im not a real big fan of fps with a storyline, i just like death-math style games, aka bf2, cs, cs:s, you guys get the idea....go into server, spawn, go kill, reload, repeat.........
Bullshit. Bullet time ruined the game so bad. No matter how intelligent the AI, just hit bullet time and lob a grenade in the middle of them.
And no, the little girl isn't scary.
Play Max Payne now that was more fun. Or get your ass back to BF2. TRAITOR

BF2 is still my all time favorite though. HL2 cuts it close..
**** Not necro posting, I know the game is old as Jesus riding a dinosaur but ...
I picked this up for $15, never heard much about it. I grabbed it mainly for the single player.
Single player: Reminded me of Max Payne 2 less the clever dialog, variety of enemies and humor. I though it was repetitive at times - although not as bad as the end Halo 1 . Definitely not as scary as Doom 3. Had a cool little nuke scene at the end.
The AI actually seemed decent.
I thought the graphics looked good, the worn down bits reminded me of the cities of HL2 and constant struggle to see in the dark reminded me of Doom3.
Multiplayer: Played deathmatch on what appeared to be a French-Canadian server (surprised that there were still a great deal of servers running). Nothing special, even for back then.

Multiplayer wasn't very good, hence they started giving it away for free. The F.E.A.R game is enjoyable enough, the "Extraction Point" expansion is better for displays of complete and utter mindfucks in the horror sequences in it. Once again though Yahtzee sums up the whole F.E.A.R franchise best with his review on Perseus Mandate.

Best part ever was the cell you get stuck in and the walls slowly close in on you. Fucking insane.Ty wrote:

F.E.A.R. is a top notch game, thoroughly enjoyed the SP. The game is especially good when played after midnight with no lights on using a good headset.
my thoughts exactly. i beat the game in 2 days, and never touched it again. MP lags nastyPinkSugarHeartAttack wrote:
