Nope, you have to sit out the download.
Really? I think you can download if you're playing SP, can't you? It stops during an online game though, I know that for sure.mcgid1 wrote:

Yeah you can download and play at the same time. There might be hickups like it will say "Download stopped for FFoW Demo" but then restart again in 10 seconds.

You can still play, as long as you don't go online.
You can play games fine. When you start one up, it'll say 'download stopped for blah blah blah', but it doesnt really. It just pauses for a few seconds.
However, some games will pause it indefinitely. Crackdown for example always seems to stop it until you finish. Burnout Paradise has a habit of pausing the download randomly (probably to upload road rules).
It depends on the game, but i think it mostly just continues downloading.
