Indeed. I think they buffed up the Mono's because they used to suck at getting points before. Took me forever to find out how to get Match 21.kptk92 wrote:

Whoever beats me will likely be best in the world. Epic challenge. Speaking of challenge, when does this one end and a new song begin?
brb beating your score
This may be an unpopular opinion, but because of the random nature of the competition, I say we consider a 4000 point "tie" buffer... meaning, if 2nd place is within 4000 points of 1st, we should consider it a tie. Or maybe, only 2000 points? That way, it will eliminate some of the "NO FAIR" stuff.
However, if you're back by 2001... well... you lose

Eh, it sounds 'fair', but considering how hard some of us are working for the top, it's kind of an anticlimactic ending. Let's see what other people think.djphetal wrote:

So, I just played a perfect round... missed all grays and got all the colored blocks... but I'm still at a lower score.
I got match 21, stealth, and CF...
There's nothing else i can do...

Your score is oddly low for all the bonuses you got... Try it again, but sometimes it's good to miss a few blocks if it helps get a larger stack of them.djphetal wrote:

Missing a few probably helps, you just have to know which ones to miss. I'm frustrated simply because I'd hit the exact same blocks every time and get different scores. Sometimes a combo would hang around a tiny bit longer for me to get another block in it, and sometimes it'd disappear prematurely.
As for the "tie" thing, I'd say maybe within 100 or 200 points, but not a few thousand considering how close this match has been.
Also, do we have a song lined up for the next one? It seems like Drum'n'Bass is too specific a genre to put in. Maybe we could just have a couple general electronic ones, a couple general rock ones, and maybe a couple from a soundtrack? What if we all take turns picking songs? The winner can pick one, but if someone who's won has already picked, then the choice will move down to second place, and so on, until everyone has picked a song.

sounds good... I like the rotation idea.mtb0minime wrote:

I've noticed the combo glitches too. It makes it irritating when you're going for that Match 21 and the combo dies before you can finish. This may be just random chance, but I've noticed that the more you change columns, the quicker the combo dies. I could be completely wrong though, it just seems that way to me.mtb0minime wrote:

I have no idea what song(s) to do next, so I'll leave that up to all of you.
I say we just go down the list of people's names... Tim chose this weeks, so mtb gets to choose next week. And it doesn't have to be DnB.
Alright so I've got a short list of possibilities. They're all between 3 and 5 minutes long, don't want anything too long or too short. It's all electronic, so hopefully you guys like it
Vordhosbn by Aphex Twin (video)
Saturate by The Chemical Brothers (video)
Broken by UNKLE (video)
Another Kind of Blues [aka Zion] by Fluke (video)
Tunnel Vision by Orbital (video)
Turbo Dreams by Ellen Allien & Apparat (crappy video)
Switch On by Paul Oakenfold (video)
So, any preferences? And yes I realize I've already done most of these songs, but I haven't played them much, so I don't have much of an advantage. And besides, everyone gets to pick one, so if you really want to, you can pick your best song.
I'm currently leaning toward Turbo Dreams (a nice, intense song), but the video is crap, so I guess you can Google around to listen to samples or whatever.
Also, don't worry about whether or not you have the songs
My xfire and e-mail links are to the left and up a little.
