Osgood is terrible?!? What fucked up drugs are you on??? Osgood have been outstanding several matches in this playoffs so far. But I'm not gonna argue that Khabibulin is a good goalie. But the difference won't be there. Detroit is far more experienced and will beat Blackhawks in 5, maybe 6 matches. But first we need that last win against the Ducks which will come tonight. A 4-2 victory!

Yeah, having over 3.00 GAA and well under .900 Save Percentage...all while on a team with great team defense (Lidstrom, Rafalski, Datsyuk, Zetterberg, etc)?  You're right.  He's not terrible at all.

Osgood is the Grant Fuhr/Tom Barrasso of the Red Wings.  He's not good...he's just good enough.  And when you're on a team that is as good as the Wings, that's all you need.

Not to mention, the Flames had more experience than the Hawks too...experience isn't everything.

My point is that when you play for a team like the Red Wings, it's not hard to have great stats.  Give a golden retriever goalie pads, put him in net, tell him to "stay", and with Detroit's team defense mentality, he should be able to post an 850 save percentage.  Osgood as average, at best.  He just plays for a good team.

And again, I say that it doesn't matter who is in net for the Wings.  They're a very good team and they don't allow many quality chances on net.  Osgood has played most of his career for them, so obviously his stats will be inflated because of it.  If you put me in net for the Wings, I could probably win 15-20 games.  It's not hard to realize that a goalie who's played in the league for 14 years will have more regular season and playoff victories than goalies like Cam Ward, who have been in the league less then 10 years, Jonas Hiller, who has been in the league less than five, Roberto Luongo, who played with the Panthers most of his career, Tim Thomas, who only became recognized in the past five years, Varlamov, who is a rookie, and Khabibulin, who played many years with Phoenix.

I've said it twice already and I'll say it again.  He's not good...he's just good enough.  Tom Barrasso and Grant Fuhr never would've won a Stanley Cup if not for Lemieux, Jagr, and Francis...and Gretzky, Messier, Coffey, and Kurri.  The team Osgood has had around him has done all the work...not him.

Also, an article from a newspaper based in Michigan?  Unbiased, I'm sure.

Yea the caps played absolutely horrible. I guess they decided they didnt want to show for the most important game of the season.
