Thank you Vancouver! I have a hate-hate relationship towards Sundin. The fucker has downed our national team too many times. I wouldn't have wanted to see that guy in a team I'm supporting under any circumstanses. I'm genuinly releaved Plus now I have a chance to get tickets to NYR games in a few weeks

+ What good would it do to have an old geezer for 1,5 seasons (or how long the contract was, dunno) over there instead of younger guys who are in better condition and have played this season?

^^ The best part of that contract is the fact that there's only 50 games left in the regular season in Vancouver. Assuming he'll be playing tomorrow night (which is unlikely if you ask me) he is getting paid $200,000 for every game he plays. He's not even going to make an immediate impact, it's hard to re-enter the league after missing the first third of the season and everybody else is in top shape skating hard while he probably hasn't seen anything more physically demanding than an exercise bike. And you're right, he has to be doing it for the money if he's going way out west to play. I thought Vancouver was out of the question right away when he said that he wasn't going to travel too far.

he's definitely a great player, although I'm not sure how he will perform after missing so much of the season.  But sundin also has been known to under perform during the playoffs, which is the real reason they picked him up...
The thing about this is that Vancouver still has enough cap room to pay a player $6 mil/year.  This could mean another big name going to Vancouver.  And when Luongo returns, that could be a pretty scary team.

Doh, sorry I don't pay enough attention to hockey. But I did see a video of his comments and I for one thought it was a huge overreaction by the team. I mean, thats exactly the kind of thing you hear at a bar. It's really no big deal in my book and certainly not a good enough reason to kick a guy off a team.

If it were anyone else, it wouldn't have been a big deal. I at first was like you, but now I realize what a detriment to the Stars that he was.
