After the last 1.40 patch i am yet again able to play the game and have aquired Northern Strike aswell ... have been out since the 1.20 patch, about a year i guess

And the Highway Tampa map is included in the 1.40 patch, same map as in BF2 with a few modifications ...

There were´nt any major changes in 1.4 mostly fixes such as boosting the Scar ( lower recoil ) faster rate of fire on the Clark Shotgun, improving the standard LMGs a small bit.

I play occasionally now not so much as i used to but still love the game.

FEATURES

- Added a new map

- Highway Tampa.

- Added an autosave to kit customisations. After you customise a kit and spawn in with that kit, the customisation will be automatically saved until you change it and spawn in again. Note that you must spawn in with a particular kit for it to be saved.

- Titans will now spawn up to two gunships per side

- Squad Leaders no longer have to resupply to re-equip destroyed drones CHANGES

- Exploit Fix: hardcoded the time limits of Orbital and EMP strikes.

- RDX Shotgun now detonates RDX, Motion Mines, AP Mines with minimum of 2 rounds.

- Ported EU Assault Rifle changes to the Best Buy unlock as well.

- Fixed LMG Left/Right Recoil

- Revised EU Assault Rifle Recoil

- Increased Clark rate of fire to match Herzog

- Fixed PAC shotgun attachment recoil to match other Herzogs

- Further adjustment to Squad Leader drones to prevent them accidentally killing the Squad Leader when deployed

- Further fix to prevent "pod surfing". Note that some pod movement will still be possible and is an intended gameplay mechanic to allow the player to have some small choice of landing site and to access rooftops

- Smoke from the CM3-N Radar Grenade deploys more quickly. The Radar range has been slightly increased and endures for the duration of the smoke effect.

- The CM3-N Radar Grenade may now be resupplied.

- The screening effectiveness of all smoke grenades has been significantly improved.

- Adjusted Talon heat source position to improve Gunship missile balance.

- Beta Feedback: Fixed the placement of an AA gun on Highway Tampa

- Beta Feedback: Improved the visuals of the swimming pool on Highway Tampa

I play 3 or 4 days a week with 6 or so friends. I loved cod4 for about 3 weeks. . now it collects dust until something new comes out. we have insane amounts of fun playing 2142. not sure why it gets trashed to hell by most people here.

I was playing for a bit up until 2 weeks ago. The friends that are (re)new to PC gaming have playing now are playing bf2 and TF2. I like 2142, just so much time in the day .

the only BF2142 i played is the demo, left a sour taste in my mouth.

you may feel that Bf2142 was trashed by me an other dudes, but in reality, the game in my opinion had a lot of potential.i believed that the trouble that BF2 had would be at least 3/4 solved when i played bf2142. with all of the negativity that i got in Bf2 after playing it for 18 months, i thought Bf2142 would have saved me from permanently leaving the BFseries. boy i was wrong.

the delivery and execution of the game is horrible even though the titan mode was a new twist to the game. 2142 should have laser weapons since its sooo in the FUTURE, but dice decided to stick their heads up their ass to stop listening. they said that they did not want to turn 2142 into star wars. i had several people say to me that the hitreg might as be as bad as sniping with a homemade slingshot.

i talked to people personally online and on xboxlive where i play COD4. 80-89% of people told me that 2142 is nothing more than a MOD of BF2.

i know you guys want to bash me right now, even you Longbow. but if you just calm down and look how many more Bf2 servers out there compared to Bf2142, you would understand why.

I'm glad they haven't included lasers, it would be a reason why I wouldn't buy it.

Stop comparing number of servers, BF2142 was highly unpopular even at it's start because of sci-fi thematic.
