Alright, gonna go grab this game, played the demo and I was averaging about 40FPS with these specs with my graphics set all high with AA maxed out and 1024x768.

8800GTS 512MB
Q6600 2.4GHz
4GB DDR2 RAM
Vista
Air Cooling


Now, I am planning to overclock video card/CPU/RAM.

If I do these things and I get a mod that improves performance(which I so far cant find), what specs can I probably run the game at. I have heard that the game is more demanding then demo, and less demanding. A average of 40FPS is wanted, dont wanna drop below 20. Can I expect better or worse graphics?

When i played the demo i maxed all out just with 1680 resolution and all high with AA at 8 or 16 i can remember, but when i installed the full game it plays no where near like the demo, im on 1680 resolution with some high and medium with no AA.

So you will be dissapointed.

Ok the demo fps is quite a bit better than the Actual game, But.





After the patch its almost the same, you wont be able to run maxed AA tho.

Probably best to get a custom config as well.

I have the same specs as you commie, so your settings will look like this:

All high settings
no AA
1280x1024

This is without the latest patch. I didn't install the patch though, because everyone at incrysis said it increased the the FPS by 1. Give it a try though, as a little increase in performance is better than none.

Alright Ill try it, was kinda debating on getting this game. I knew that it was gonna be hard to run on my computer, but I expected I might at least get the majority of DX10 settings, kinda disappointed.

Lulz they pretty good, i get most dx10 settings on my pc, on xp.

Crysis (full game) runs great at 1280x1024 @ 8x AA on all high settings for me.  I didn't expect it to run so good, so I loaded the end level, and although it hiccup'd 2 or 3 times for just an instant, it ran perfectly playable as well (at least 30 fps).

You should be OK.

You should be OK.
Just a thing, you should not use the game's default AA settings. It's pretty crap and brings down your FPS significantly. Better create an autoexec/system.cfg and use the line r_useEdgeAA = 2
It is an alternative anti-aliasing technique which brings better results and higher framerates. Pretty amazing huh? Anyway look in bakina's posts he linked to my config topic (not my configs tho) where more is explained. Im too lazy to look it up.

Well, I tried playing the demo again today, turned off AA and changed my resolution up to 1280x1024 and it looks MUCH better and I have a much better frame rate. No lag ever.
