Hey all

Well, I want Crysis, it looks so awesome. But whenever I get a game with the minimum specs. It either isn't true or my PC runs it perfectly when it says I won't.

So my question is, will this PC hardware properly run Crysis?

(Info from   >Start>Run>dxdiag)

Prossesor     -Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.00GHz 2 CPUs

Memory        -1024GM

Hard drive    -104GB

Graphic card -Nvidia GeForce 7600GS (Going to be upgraded to 8600GT shortly)

Thanks

P.S.   Man I'm looking forward to this game. The graphics look so cool and I love the XM8 in it!

Do not upgrade to 8600 if you want to run Crysis. At least a Radeon HD3850 then, it's not very much more expensive, yet is much more bang for the buck. 8600GT is hardly an upgrade from 7600GS. Compare: http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics_ … ;chart=318

That Processor is ok.

Maybe add in another gig of ram.

With current hardware it will run well on low settings.

I have almost the same specs and I run smooth on low (physics on medium though). Looks nice too.

You should be good to play Crysis, it will just auto-default your graphics to the lowest settings, which are still pretty good.

If you wanna run it decently, with good graphics, then get another gig of ram, an 8800(any model), BTW is that on xp?

Yeah I have an XP Pro

Hmmm, well...I don't know ANYTHING about ATI graphics, only Nvidias, and the 8600GT is 155 francs, the 8800GT is 395...

Which means an ATi Radeon HD3850... You actually should go with the 8800GT/GTSG92/GTX but I see not everyone has such a wide budget. 3850 for you it is.

TL;DR Crysis makes computers cry.

I run Crysis fine, all low on:

P4 (Prescott 2M) @ 4.2GHz
7600GS @ 600/960
2GB DDR2 @ 725MHz

So, Crysis should run pretty fine on your computer, too.

Don't get an 8600GT. Just don't. You won't even notice any change.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

well i have XP so obviously DX9 with all settings at high with my rig (in sig) at 1440*900 with full motion blur but no aa i believe. Not that I have EVER seen a difference with AA enabled.

I used to have a 8600 GT with the same specs and difference is huge. Before the 8600GT I had a 7600, and tbh the upgrade was not worth it.

A 9600GT would be a better choice than a HD3850, I think.

Heres my system:
-Intel Quad Core 2.4 GHz (4 CPUs)
-3 GB RAM (Free upgrade from 2 GB)
-320 GB Hard Drive
-8800 GTS
-Widescreen Monitor
Crysis is beautiful... still, those Korean Super-Troopers piss me off so much...

I wouldn't play Crysis on low. That means i wouldn't play the game if low was the only option with my specs. You need a better GFX card than 8600GT and another gig of RAM. Just being honest. Do whatever you think is best.

I beg to differ with GFX on low, the way I see it,

Crysis is designed to look realistic, and on the High/Very High settings it probably does, but on low it just looks like crap because it tries to look real but ends up having just bland rocks and sand(Think gray bulges)
(Demo experience only)
BTW, your best bet would be to download the 1.6GB demo and see for urself.
