- Why is it that NOBODY works in a fucking team in this game?
I dont like the cartoon aspect of tf2 either, not sure why it makes the game no fun for me but it does. just like I hate fps games with aliens >/ BF2142 has the most enjoyable squad play for me. I play cod4 when i only have a short time to play since the action is fast and furious. I play bf2142 when I have friends online for hours of laughs and killing.
maybe you guys r right (maybe not)

So why did you make a post essentially saying that team players are dicks? Nobody is telling you "ZOMG DO UR PART FOR TEH TEAM!11!!!1one"Afrika_18 wrote:
Now, I don't dispute the efficiency of a well-coordinated team vs. lone players. The team will win...and in real-life this is good, this matters.
Just join a squad and try to communicate and stay together. Not that hard.
1) I made a post saying that team players are dicks because I think they are dicks. Just because I acknowledge that a team will more than likely be more successful than a solo player doesn't mean I still can't call them dicks.
2) Nobody is telling me "ZOMG DO UR PART FOR TEH TEAM..."? Then what the fuck is this: "Just join a squad and try to communicate and stay together. Not that hard."?
Go back to your herd.
What the fuck is so hard about joining a squad? Are you just horrible with other people or something? Joining a squad makes you more effective, why not do it?Afrika_18 wrote:

I've done the squad thing and I've found that for me, being in a squad makes absolutely no difference in my performance. I'm consistently the best player in the game regardless of whether I'm in a squad.Longbow wrote:

Playing in a squad with ppl I know (not just some random noobies that can't do anything) really helps. With good teamwork you can easily win and pwn the whole other team that doesn't know what is teamwork. But if I join a server with just random noobie squads, it really doesn't matter if I play in a squad or not. (They don't stay together.) But if I see a squad that actually works as a team I'll happily join it. They do the same with my squad if I make one. When they notice that hey, there is good teamwork in that squad. they'll join it.

The thing about teamwork is this: A lot of you call it working together and so forth...but what is really happening is several other guys submitting to one other guy's will. So enough of this 'help eachother' crap. The 'helping eachother' is incidental, the REAL point behind squad play is the avenue that it allows for one individual to exercise his will over another.

my teamwork assessment ...
TF2 > 2142 > Bf2 > CoD4
I played a couple games recently and had no issues joining a squad that uses teamwork. Typically I latch onto a squad that appears to have related clan members (meaning they are working together to begin with).

Your thoughts, insights, and musings on this matter intrigue me
When I lone wolf I make a squad in the beginning of the round and try to get alot of points by myself and usually after you get 1st place a couple times your squad will fill up. When I work with my clan I'm squad leader anyway only because I love being squad leader. I'm not saying I take this game as seriously as this guy but rather that I play to have fun with my clan 99% of the time.
Look if you want true bf2 teamwork go join a clan and tell your clan to join the TWL 5v5 infy ladder.

its because people take the "ego" in "ego-shooter" literally
2142 sucks imo. I played with loads of good team players from our little community but we all quickly went back to BF2. Maybe this is true with other community's so there are less "team players".
Last night me and bunch of randoms made a sqaud and we dominated the other team full of the same clan. We worked together and took one base at a time until we capped them out. Find a sqaud that has a hogh rank good player and follow there orders and you'll do fine
It depends on what your goal is. If you WANT to be a part of a team and accomplish a goal, then it works for you. If you want to win more, then it is works for you. If you despise even thinking that someone else on your team may have an idea that will work, or come to the realization that there are other people on your team and you are not just carrying them yourself, then this whole teamwork thing may not be for you.Afrika_18 wrote:

Yes, you may have to help accomplish someone else's idea. But then, there is nothing against YOU being the guy calling the shots. The most successful get asked to do it again.
If you really want teamwork, go to the Tactical Gamer server. They're ultra coordinated.
2142 is a mod of Bf2 and it still has the same crappy flaws of Bf2
Better hit reg. though...specialistx2324 wrote:

More balance...
and less random-ness...

In BF2, re-swap from squad leader make let walk in big map. But in 2142, transport is everywhere, or pod from titan, and people more easy to go solo. But I do see some people do join squad, but there do have some like to go solo. Specially, some badge do need squad work in order to get it in 2142, like problem solving, titan destruction. Or may be just by me, team work make 2142 more fun.
It's because way more people that never played BF2 play BF2142, they don't know how squads can affect the game. They don't know how things work, none of them do, although every once in a blue moon there's a non-vet player that can actually dish out some decent pwnage but for the most part they really don't know how Battlefield is supposed to be played.
As you may have noticed, BF2 vets in this game (indicated by a red 2 symbol next to their name and rank) are pretty rare nowadays, but usually when they do appear in a game, they're the ones at the top of the list and actually join/make squads. Yours truly is no exception. I love taking advantage of these people, they are just so helpless and stupid. I don't see them making exceptions any time soon.

If your looking for squadplay in EU i would truly recommend Monkey-Gamers Squadplay = 193.33.186.120:17567
Look for the squads tagged with MG especially Robbie and Higgum you won´t be dissapointed i tell ya. Always speedy games with allot of communication.
Note: Since the "Squadplay All The Way" server were shut down a large portion of the playerbase went here also many "SP-XX" who stuck to 2142 are playing in MG nowadays. It´s all about teamplay there.

Dude I understand you, because it's true, but only true for some servers. If you're on those lame servers with no VOIP and 64 players or something you're not going to find much teamwork. Now if you join a server with a map rotation instead of 24/7. Also, join a clan. When I'm on the server with my clan m8s we always find a way to get all on the same team, we're all on Teamspeak, we're never far from each other, so one or the other can always get revived. And when we're in one of those moods we'll just be on TS but no always right next to each other. For example, on a Suez Canal map we will have a few guys capping silos, two guys in a gunship protecting them, ect...
So you can find team work.
