Your PSU should be fine for it.

Should be fine, but usually all card manufactors recommend 400W - 480W atleast,
Personally I got X800XL with an Enermax 485W (or is it 475W, not sure ).

That's not true. ATI recomends at least a 300 watt PSU for their x850xtpe AGP version.

Hmm, so maybe I read it somewhere else, ohh right it was tomshardware guide.
Sorry my mistake. I knew I read it somewhere. ( I don't imagine things, not yet )

Do some research. I looked and Nvidia only requires a 350 watt PSU minimum for the 6800gt AGP version. Hell, to run two 7800gtx's they only require a minimum of a 500 watt PSU.

I didn't say minimum I said recommended and again tomshardware ( or firingsquad, hell it was 2 months ago )...

Doesn't matter I could recommend a 1000 watt PSU, does that mean you need it? He asked if his would be ok, and it will be fine.

Hmm how would you know ? wow I never thought about it, I think they put those cables you showed in the picture at the amount that is enough to keep the PSU alive, if you'll seperate this one cable into 2 ( this is possible ), then it's a problem but if you got enough of those cables without doing that, it shouldn't be a problem, usually it would mean it's completly fine.

If the PSU aint up to it then windows will tell you, i installed a card ages ago (without reading the instructions lol) and widows reported that it would not run properly because of insufficient power, then i remembered to plug the power cable into the card lol...300w PSU! all works well. It will all depend on how many power applications you have running e.g. cd roms, DVD, speakers, printers etc....ps my card is only a lowly 5700 ultra, the system is ancient but good enough to run BF2 for now...roll on me student loan! more debt, better comp...how much does a 6800 go for?

depends what 6800 and if its AGP or PCI-E,  the one im looking at is 6800 GT agp at £220   seen a GS for £190  but the GS only has 12 pipes, the GT has 16

ya, the difference between the 2 is that the GS has opted for higher clock speeds while the GT has more pipes

ahh i c,  the card i bought (6800gt 256mb agp)  comes with a overclock tool, so....  i could raise the clock speed if i wanted to  (probaly wont overclock it but the option is there )

I don't think there's any need of OCing video cards like that today, maybe in F.E.A.R if you want to play on maximum everything so you might need it ( I get spikes with my card but I didn't try to OC it anyway )

ya, but overclocking is just for the fun of it

I can recommend Tagan as top PSU supplier, mine is 420W which may not sound much more than the 350W I upgraded from, but the improvement is dramatic. And my opinion on overclocking?...dont do it to solve a problem, only do it if you have no problems.
