Anything is more in-depth than Halo. Seriously. Played the first one, soooooo boring and stupid.

But really, play the Metal Gear Solid series. They're in-fucking-credible!

Im talking about the halo series as a whole as in EVERYTHING books and all. Halo goes pretty deep and it does make sense about how the forerunners dissapeared at the same time humans came about. As in humans might be the forerunners. So in return the covonent are actually worshiping us. I hate how little kitties ruin a thread with stupid ass shit btw.
well if your counting written work(who the fuck would write a Halo book?  and what kind of fucking asshole would read it?) then any lord of the rings game has your halo bullshit beat.

Halo's storyline is one of the main aspects of the game, not to mention its music and game play among other things. Halo's storyline is not to be belittled. However I don't think any game can stand up to RPG's.... their main purpose in life is to create an alternate world.  To do taht, you need depth of story and detail, as it is a Role Playing Game they need to make a whole new universe.... i think games can't compete with the Elder Scrolls and all those other RPG's really

Half Life has your shit beat three times in the face with a stun-batton.

Go read a timeline thing with notes added by the author of them.

Halo has about as much depth as a mud-puddle. It's an entertaining story yeah, but it's a story for the mindless jocks who line up two weeks in advance to buy Halo games who make up the game's primary audience.

And I don't play too many different games but Half-Life definatly has a more in-depth story than Halo.

Wow... Halo being described as deep? I lol'd. Hard.

Get Dues Ex: The Conspiracy, play all four endings.

Explore HL2 and it's questions.

Play the Baldur's Gate series. Etc.
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.

Half-life, Warcraft, Final Fantasy, Elder Scrolls.

Halo itself has no story what so ever really. Its the books outside of the game that have story, whereas the ones ive mentioned have massive amounts of lore in the games aswell as tons of books etc.

exactly, how much real story can a shooter on rails have?  games like TES, fallout and stalker put you into another world.

Nothing has a more in depth story than The Elder Scrolls or Half Life.

Half-Life. And honestly, Halo 3 itself doesn't have that deep of a story. It's all the extra stuff, in the books, on the internet sites, etc. where the story gets deep.
Books were pretty good tbh.

As long as we are counting books with games, I would say Dungeons and Dragons (and incarnates such as Elder Scrolls) and Star Wars have more in-depth story than anything else.

Please try to prove me wrong.
