I don't have it yet and I'm a big Call of Duty 4 fan, so I've been pondering about getting this game to see if it is actually any good. Anyone with any personal experience care to tell me whether I should or not?

Somewhat strange, and needs a lot of computer power, but I like it.

I would not buy it, it didn't take me long to complete, and didn't even make me want to try it online. The graphics are nice, but game play is not amazing in any way, just a few nice touches. It didn't even make me to want to complete it again. In my opinion still not a patch on HL2. Stick with COD4 kyle.

To be honest, awesome as it looks, the demo didn't really inspire me to buy it. I probably still will do at some point though.

Single Player is great. Not played multiplayer, I heard it sucks, but the single player is amazing.

I was kinda disappointed with it. The graphics etc are amazing but the game play became kinda obscure and far less interesting after the core level. ie when the alien thingies start appearing.

Only played it on SP and will stop i reckon..

The singleplayer is great fun and has good replayability because it's quite open ended.

On the other hand, I hate the multiplayer.

If you're not short on cash and don't want to get it illegaly, buy it.

can anyone relate it to Far Cry for me please? In terms of both multi and single. I played that quite a bit and it would help quite a bit.

I was disappointed not being able to play it on full specs with the beast of a machine I have standing next to me. Be honest with the specs next time, Crytek!

As for the gameplay, it rocks. I never had that much fun killing people in so many different ways. However, the story sucked extremely large balls. So... there are alliens... and... Koreans... and... an Island. Nowhere in the entire game do you get any info on the alliens. None whatsoever. Personally I have seen enough "omg random aliens appear and we need to kill them all" stories (AKA Doom) and it's the worst kind of story you can come up with IMO.

SPOILERS!!!!!

Also I realy dislike the ending of the game which makes completely no sense and had me staring at my screen for 5 minutes going: WTF?! THATS ALL I GET?!!! I GO THROUGH ALL THIS SHIT AND THEY SEND ME BACK TO THE DAMN ISLAND?!!! Thats the ending?

Just for that I will be downloading the sequal instead of buying it. Their fault for having crappy story writers and partnering with EA.

Awesome game. I liked COD4, but Crysis is way better.

I'm debating returning it to Gamestop. Didn't appeal to me. MP was nice the first couple of days, but then it just dragged on.

I enjoyed the SP until it went all sci-fi on me.  That part was a huge turnoff.  I'll probably play through it again, but I'll stop at the sci-fi point (trying not to spoil anything).  It's a beautiful game, sure, but only one of my friends has enough PC horsepower to play it with me, which is a real bummer.

I loved the game play, stories a bit dodgy but still fun. Its intended to be part of a trilogy i must add just to give a bit of extra information that may explain some things in the game.

I went to the store to buy UT3 and it wasn't in stock yet so I picked up Crysis.  And now I wish I hadn't.

It was an OK game, great to look at but the enemy AI is weak.  I would blow up a truck and the guy on the machine gun not 20 feet from it wouldn't engage me even though I was right in front of him.  For a destructible world it sure was hard hitting guys behind flimsy sheet metal... even with the rocket launcher.

The plot was OK but there was one time, with the VTOL, that I cleared out the skies of all the bad guys and the marines wouldn't take off afterwards.  They just sat there for 20 minutes while I went and had lunch.  I restarted the level and did the exact same thing again and it worked fine.  Very strange.

I did enjoy the carrier stuff though, even though the final boss battle felt very arcade like.  But the ending, although it does allow for future titles under the same plot, was a bit of a let down.

For my .02 I put COD4 > Crysis by a huge margin.  And for awesome alien FPS action I would put Prey way above Crysis.

When you buy it you should also buy a new pc coz yours will sure be eaten by the game.  The game seems to be from the future, for future pc's.

It is definately worth it.  Great gameplay, and most of all, AMAZING interaction with environments.  Only bad thing is that it is very demanding.

All the CryTek games seem like big tech demonstrations. They're great in that regard, could use some work around the edges (they weren't bad but the gameplay doesn't match the engines accomplishments) but we always get more hype on the technical advancements and not much about the game.

Maybe it's the consumers fault, I never hear people talking about the game itself, just the pretty colors. Therefor, that's exactly what CryTek gives them. Not my favorite circle jerk.
