This may be a stupid question, but I wasn't able to find the answer anywhere here...

In order to get the Basic Grappling Hook Specialist Badge you need to deploy 10 grapples IAR.  You only get one usage with each life correct?  (unless I've been doing something way wrong).  It doesn't seem like it can be resupplied (same as the zipline).  This means that in order to achieve this you have to die at least 9 times in the round, correct?  Seems kinda stupid to me.  (unless I'm totally missing something)

Once you have thrown your grappling hook, hit G to pick it back up and you can use it again.

also you need to pick it back up within around 20 seconds after you use it or it will be gone and then you will need a resupply to get one back.

If you see an enemy grappling up to you and you have a grapple too, throw yours out on the ground and you can pick up his and he will fall :p  (and lose his grapple)

Can you get it back using a resupply?

I don't think I've ever read a game manual...I suppose I probably should.  I usually just fire up the game and check the in-game settings for keyboard controls.

I read that, I just didn't believe that because I've never had a resupply give me a zipline back.

Yes, you can get grappling hooks & ziplines from a commander's resupply crate.
It does take much longer than other ammunition and health though.

IIRC, you can NOT ALSO get them from a support guy's resupply bag.
(They use up all the space for the tons of grenades, mines & rockets.)

Fixed.

Resupply bags resupply everything, from Jet bombs to TV missiles to tank shells to rifle ammo, grenades and ALSO Grappling Hooks and Zip Lines.

Are you going to scale a wall using only a knife?  Or go from one rooftop to another with the knife?

Don't feel bad, I've seen plenty of higher sergeants leave their zip behind while going to the same roof I'm on or heading to. Even an officer or two.

As far as getting one back goes, yes a crate does eventually give you back your zip or grapple. You've probably never noticed because it takes a lot longer than ammo resupply.

BTW in case you didn't know this too you can also drop a rope using the grapple, so if you're already on a roof and you want to help a teammate up...

Ah, seems I was misinformed there.
Am I right that it'll take as long as with a supply crate to get back the grappling hook/zipline, except if you pick up the whole bag?

I really don't know. I have never resupplied anyone by holding my ammo bag out (always throw them) and I can't remember ever being resupplied by someone holding their bag let alone it being for a grapple/zipline.

But I do know, if you use a smoke nade, run over a bag rearm and use it again, there is a delay of about 15+ seconds before you can get a third smoke nade. I don't know if this applies to grapples/ziplines (never needed 3 quickly), and its not the same as just resupplying slowly but they may be connected. If I had to guess, I would say, yes it takes a long time to rearm if you don't pick up a ammo bag.
