in another post i read about a guy on the EA forums who was reporting a name violation (killtheblacks was who he was reporting) and in the post EA said "We have no control over names that is up to gamespy/IGN" and "We have that control in Battlefield 2142 because it is a newer game BF2 is one of our older games"


Do u guys think when Crysis comes out in a few months they will stop with 2142? Explain

EDIT 2: i used Crysis as an example because its planning to be a big game but i mean really when any game comes out soon

possibly yes , untill BF3 will be out they'll fuck on BF series ( maybe one buster or complete addon for 2142 is still possible though )

Wait, what?  Because of name control their going to end 2142?  How does that make any sense whatsoever?   So they have control over player names, big deal, doesnt mean the game is going to all of a sudden end.

This is probably why 2142 has less stat-server problems (except the mostly-welcomed rank bug), because it's not handled by that POS, Gamespy.

Very doubtful. Crysis and battlefield are very different games made by different developers. EA is probably not interested in spending the money necessary in monitoring both battlefield games, and so they dropped service with the older title and focused on the recent release.

Edit: And as far as patches go, there's really nothing to patch anymore. Other than the communities desire for some more maps and maybe another expansion, players are fairly content with gameplay. Right?

GS still own the servers but EA handles and operates them themselves.
