Is anyone playing bf2142 with 1920 x 1200 res. I put a post in the help section but I just want conformation this game can be forced to run at 1920 x 1200. If anyone has it set at this please let me know. Thanks.
Setting A Custom Resolution
Since the lack of a range of resolutions is one of the most common complaints about BF2142, I'll spell out the solution again here. It involves using the +szx and +szy command line options (covered in the Advanced Tweaking section). For example to set a resolution of 1280x1024, go to your BF2142 launch icon, right-click on it and select Properties. Then in the Target box put a single blank space after the last character and insert +szx 1280 +szy 1024, substituting any other number for the 1280 width and 1024 height respectively to suit your needs. The end result should look something like this:
"C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\BF2142.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1280 +szy 1024
Now each time you launch the game it will run in the custom resolution specified, however note firstly that you must make sure your monitor can support this resolution, and secondly the Display Mode setting under the in-game Video Settings will not show the correct new resolution, not that this is a problem. Unlike Battlefield 2, editing the Video.con file does not work in properly setting a custom resolution, so this is the recommended method for doing so.

1920x1200 is pretty high. I can only assume you have a good video card otherwise you will be running at a great resolution with crap graphics.
Thanks guys I got it sorted. I had changed the command line and deleted my old cache but it still wasn't working. I had to un-install and use a fresh install to get it to work. Looks excellent and the 8800gtx does the job well enough.
Why did you double post? One in the "Help" - Section and one in the "Battlefield 2142 General Section"? Delete one, other wise the mods will get very mad.
Just helping!

This is weird, as I play at 1920x1200 and never had to do anything to make that resolution available to me. Once I got my Dell 2407WFP and hooked it up to my 7950 GX2, the resolution was in-game waiting for me.
Not quite sure how that could be. The only way to get that res is to force it through the desktop icon. You might want to try changing the command line and see if it looks any different.Dizik wrote:

I got it running at 1920x1200, but "Widescreen Fixer" makes everything other than the foreground go black. Even without the fix is still looks fine.
Silly EA claiming that WS is unfair advantage.
Actually it is. Have you seen the difference between 1024x768 and 1920x1200? It's like +3-5 methers of view.PBAsydney wrote:

So? Isn't paying for stuff to gain advantage what EA wants us to do? Except of course the fact that I didn't buy my 22" WS from EA.Longbow wrote:

If EA sold hardware, or more specific WS monitors, they would unlock a true WS mode but only for their brand.
