Why would we be bothered enough to not care. I don't get it. You make me laugh. I like the Serious Sam games anyway, well Serious Sam 2 was abit lame as they made it too cartoony but...well, the way you say "Anyone care" as if this franchise has somehow personally insulted your feelings. Give yourself a break.
I thought Serious Sam/SE were cartoony. I didn't think SS2 broke the mold at all, and am still poised to grab it (again) if it's ever ported to Steam.Mekstizzle wrote:

All I read was "A headline perhaps better located at the top of Friday’s Thief 4 post" and then clicked on Thief 4 because that's something I care more about...
I never really bothered with SS, but might look into this.

You're missing out. Grab the first two on Steam and get into some online coop. Even by today's standards the engine isn't half shabby.
Noone plays online in EU anymore :<unnamednewbie13 wrote:

Seriously (no pun intended)?
I'm able to find a server whenever I'm on, but that was a few months ago. At least lag doesn't affect the game that much. Try NA.

The last time I looked for servers for MP (which was also the first time I did so) I found a total of 4 players spread across 2 serversunnamednewbie13 wrote:

That looks really terrible.
Looks brilliant to me. If you're as crazily outnumbered in this as you were in the previous games and the levels are still gigantic, I'm sold.
I thought so too. Like Call of Duty with SS enemies. I´m not sure where they are going with this...Zimmer wrote:

@tim: Serious Sam is more like Doom than newer FPS's are. It calls for actually enjoying non-stop shooting. If you can get some buddies into it, or even enjoy a pub game, it suddenly became exponentially better.
@sisco: SS is not Call of Duty. The lighting may look bright and similar, but the CoD franchise does not hold a copyright on it.

un13, I meant the trailer I posted makes SS look like CoD with SS enemies. Look at the realistic weapons, tiny city levels and the graphic style as a whole. It looks nothing like the previous Sam´s.
Which I think is terrible, hence I replied to Zimmers post.

Depends on the weapon you have. The difficulty can be adjusted to your liking. I prefer the hardest difficulty, but with enemies who don't have near-boss hit points or unlimited ammo if they are beefed up.TimmmmaaaaH wrote:
Yeh I played the original one and also the reboots with a couple of friends. It was kind of fun but yeh, I guess I just dont like that non-stop style. It just feels like there is so much shit everywhere that your individual impact is not important. It is hard to explain.
Ok, I gotcha. They only showed a few weapons. The early Serious Sam used shotguns and machine guns too before you got to the good stuff. I'm looking forward to see what inevitable ridiculousness they have in store for this, besides popping out the eyes of those cyclopean meat slabs with your bare hands.Sisco wrote:

I´m a bit dazzled at the use of iron sights tbh. Why would you need them in a Serious Sam game? Apart from the two Revolvers, you didn´t even need to reload guns at all and aiming down the sights only narrows your FOV when fighting 100+ enemies at once...
I don't care if they implement stuff I don't use. I just hope they don't restrict guns the same way Duke Forever does, because I have no choice but to 'use that,' short of modding or not playing the game.
That would be just stupid. Sam was the better Duke over the last years. Although everything I´ve seen so far seems to take a more "realistic" approach, I sincerely hope they keep what made Sam the man.
Btw, what does "BFE" stand for?

Unannounced. Everyone's just speculating.
Hm, Croteam sure likes to fuck around
I care! Yeah some good co-op fun drunk with friends! As we played the older parts non stop until we finished it
Thank goodness that's apparently bullshit. I will be getting this game.Sisco wrote:

Yeah, me too. I trust RPS on being accurate.
