Just walk right through it. CoD is very linear.

Calm down everyone, especially Nemesis. The first American mission at Point Du Hoc is fairly difficult.
First, just shoot the few Germans you can from the beach. Then find the rope which ascends in a kind of alcove. Once at the top, make your way forwards either across the battlefield or through trenches any way you can. Once there you will join a group of your team in a crater hole, one of them will call in Artillery. You will then see some people to shoot. You will then go into a village/farm area/whatever and you shoot the Germans there. Once you get to the other side of that there will be a Bocage. Fight through that and than follow orders from Sergeant Randall and help him destroy the naval guns.
Piece of piss. Well, not literally, but basically you just need to get good at shooting enemies. Honestly just do what you're told and don't die. It's virtually impossible to get stuck for ideas of what to do.
