Well I'm more a Squad Member or  Squad Leader in a round. And I only have 5 hrs of commander. I don't have the 2 Commander badges. That's right I don't have the commander bronze badges...

And for the bronze badge I need to get 30 commander points in a round and I only get like 25 - 28 so close. But now I'm asking you to tell me how to achieve this/these commander badges.

Best is if I get advise of the players who have Commander Badge Gold already.

Karma as a reward.

cheers,

It isn't that hard, on a fairly balanced full server on a titan map, it is fairly easy to get at least 30 before 2x or 1x

i found the best way to get to your goal, is to make sure you play a fairly large server with not to many players in, also maps that last a long time for example Suez on conquest on a large scale map, or in some cases Verdun in titan, even if squads, tanks, or any motor in the game has not called for supplies try dropping them at the flag they are about to take, its also a good idea to spot troops well after your UAV has gone, thus giving continued support to ground troops, and motors, also ask squad leaders to take flags/silos in some sort or order, for instance if you have 2 squads, ask one to take target 1 and the other target 2, this way you will spread your ground troops gaining more points, also don't forget to ask your  squad leaders to defend flags/silos... i find its best at all times to get your self a safe spot, and STAY there in cover, altho at times this can be hard if your not to far away from a flag/silo and the enemy is taking it, just remember they will go at some point and you can then take the flag, as you have the tools to see whats about, so really all in all my 3 best tips would be

1 DON'T DIE (to many deaths account for a lot of lost points, by this i mean being out of the game)
2 SUPPORT YOUR TROOPS (drop supplies, uav and sat, and keep spotting well after its gone)
3 GIVE ACHIEVABLE OBJECTIVES (don't just send the men to there deaths, if a flag is being taken by a tank, send them to another flag, unless they are engineer or recon, they can always counter strike later)

anyways hope that helps good luck

Supplying you team will give you a commander score for a certain amount of ppl/vehicles resupplying from that crate, and if you spot enemies and your team then kills them (whilst they are still on the radar because of you) you get points too, you will also recieve bonuses for UAV, EMP, basically everything counts towards commander badges, as long as you aid your team and squads and not the lonely sniper in the hills...
Giving orders which the squadleaders then follow will also give you alot of points...

I find it the easiest to get commanderpoints in close combat maps like Tunis Harbor (the best commander map), there i got a commanderpoint every two seconds

And i have the Gold conquest commander badge and i am going for the last 300 for the Titan commander badge...
Your thoughts, insights, and musings on this matter intrigue me

16- players in conquest mode or 32+ players in titan mode => Long rounds.
Your team must play with squads.
Do your commander job: UAV, orders, spot enemies,...
I've all gold commander badges and the commanders ribbons... it's not too difficult, but requires many hours

best advice i can give is you should have been commanding when 2142 was still on 1.0 :S

but seriously lol: supply drops aren't as fragile as they were in BF2, and they last longer so drop them in as many choke areas as you can.

First off all, let's clear some details.

A supply crate gives you (+Commander Bonus). This is a bonus and is not added to your score until after the round, It also does not accumulate to the 30 points you need for bronze commander.

Secons, the commander score is the sum of all players on your team divided by the number of players on your team, both excluding you.

The key in a high commande score, Is making sure your squads follow your orders.

The badges are only about commander points which are global points. The doubling after a win has no affect, so you can achieve the bronze badges even while loosing.

Commander bonus points are only career points and are not counted towards the badges. They are not even listed anywhere but in your total amount of career points.

So you may achieve the badges while being afk (you never should do!) since your commands are worth no direct points. Sure your commanding will help your team to achieve points which will result in commander points for you and commanding to victory will bring up some extra points on your way to silver and gold.

Finally for bronze you need nothing more than rounds lasting long enough. Not to much players on large maps will help you, but most important are quite ballanced teams.

I actually finally got MY bronze commander badge!  And yeah, that 25-29 range was tough to hurdle!   BUT, what did it for me was a large map... around 10-12 people each side and LOTS of flag capping... losing the flag... and re-capping.   (Lots of going back and forth).  And, of course, the gun fights and teamwork.
As commander I did what I was supposed to by directing squads to attack here and there... dropped supplies and UAVs when requested... hand spotting enemies.... and was easy on the orbital strikes unless really needed.  Good game overall, actually.
Worked out to 34 points and picked up a couples pins along the way!

Allways keep in mind: Don't take away points from your soldiers, since this will reduce your final score!

Every action which would be worth direct points for a normal soldier (kills, repairs, flags, etc.) should be completly tabu for you unless there is a desperate need that you do it now or it would be to late for your team. (Yes, this includes arty. Remember that you don't command for increasing your k/d or for some kill streak pins!)

Fighting Commanders are pure idiots since they destroy their own points and increase the time to get all Commander awards remarkably.

And to repeat this again, all the Commander bonus points (orders, supplies, spotting, kills) are only career points. Of course they are nice to get unless you're a General already, but they are completely worthless for the ten Commander awards.

Of course kills, capturing, heals, etc., etc. are still counted towards your stats and may help you to get other awards faster, but to get these better be a normal soldier and get the global and career points for those actions too.

As far as I know the calculation of Commander points works like this:

Everytime a team mate gets a point, you get this point devided by the number of your team mates. Those fractions of points are cumulated and the combined full points are shown.

So if your total team size is for example 10 and every soldier gets 30 points this round, your score (1x) will be 30 (times per soldier) * 1/9 (fraction of a point) * 9 (number of soldiers) = 30 and therfore equals the average of your team.

But usually there is a constant comming and leaving during a round and therefore the real result differs more or less noticeably from the average.
