Yea I was hungry as hell.  The hardest part is over with.  Put the CPU in is the hardest part to me, because of the risk of damaging the mobo.  But, i've just got to run the wiring now and then she should be done.

Core i7 2600K
4GB of DDR3 1600 Corsair Ram
64GB Curcial SSD
1TB WD HDD
eVGA 560 TI
Black Magic Capture Card

Just reading a review and settling on the case I want to buy at the end of the summer and then I found this version of what I wanted to buy... sexy, no?

No it went well.  I had a problem installing windows 7, but it was the DVD disk I use to install it with.  Used my DVD drive in his computer and boom it worked.  The thing boots up in about 15seconds without tweeks.

A nice case for sure. Pretty large though. I'm currently looking at these 2:
Mid tower:
Fractal Design Arc Midi

Mini tower:
Fractal Design Arc Mini

Actually the Define Mini looks good too.

All those cases are a bit too tiny. I was looking at some quality full towers and then saw the price tags and my wallet already began howling at me not to cause it so much pain.

what price range are you looking at? and any thing your looking for in a case?
color?
fans?
cable management?
bottom or top psu?
hdd configuration?
inverted or 90 degree mobo?
# of 5.25 slots?
water cooling?

The Silverstone Raven RV03 has a very nice layout for a good price. Eatx, seperate HDD storage, good cable management, 90 degree mobo, small foot print. Not really a fan of the external looks but they are on to something with this layout.

Color? Not really important so long as the standard colors are dominate (black, grey, white and any brushed metals). Don't want any green or blue or red.

Fans are a necessity, the bigger the better in order to keep noise down. My case right now has openings for fans all over and thus is very loud since I can't put fans on every spot (cost issue).

Cable management is an absolute must. That's why I like the Corsair cases I posted because they have such an excellent chance to get everything out of the main chamber and behind the motherboard.

Bottom PSU. Keep the cool air coming into the PSU and no warm air.

HDD config? The Corsair 600T I posted has an excellent setup, I think. The ports are all facing away from the chamber, which makes hiding those power and data cables a cinch.

Not sure what you mean by inverted or 90 degree motherboard - a Google image search didn't turn anything up at all.

5.25" slots? I suppose only two is what I NEED at the moment, but I would say 3-4 to provide for future upgrade capability.

Water cooling is not a must at the moment, but if the case provides for the future installation of a nice water cooling system, all the better. It's something I would like to try eventually, that's for sure.

Price needs to be no more than €160. If it's a few euros above that, I can justify it, but I'd really rather not spend more than €160 if I can avoid it.

Inverted mobos are ones like in the Silverstone TJ07 or the Lian Li A05n(which also has a front mounted psu, These are handy because it saves case height and only takes away a couple of 5.25 bays when you dont need 10 anyway.)

Another case with the front mounted psu is the Silverstone Raven 03, this case has a 90 degree mobo tray and features a HDD config where the HDDs sit behind the mobo:

Other 90 degree mobo set ups are:
Sliverstone RV01
Silverstone RV02E
Silverstone FT02 Nice build found here
Silverstone FT03 Which is an Matx case.
I emailed Silverstone yesterday to see if they had plans to make a Fortress series case with the same features as the RV03.

The Fractal Design Define R3 has some nice all around features.

Both the corsair 600T and 650D have great features as well.

I really like the looks of the new Lian Li Z60

The CoolerMaster CM690 II is a great case for its price point, as the Fractal design Arc Midi that I pointed out above. The Midi also has room for a top mounted dual and potentially triple radiator. I think Fractal has their heads right at the moment as far as new cases go, lots of features at a low price. Not stagnant old layouts.

Other mentionalbles are the NZXT H2 and the NZXT Phantom

Thanks a lot, Nic! (+1) I'll give these cases a look over later this week in more detail. I have until the end of summer to make my decision since I am going to be completing two internships and only want to skim off a tiny bit more myself before the rest goes into savings.

No problem, I'm kinda in the same boat, where I don't need to build my computer until the fall. So i've been doing a bit of looking around at stuff. Get to see how bulldozer performs too, before deciding.

Validation

This is my PC that i've had.  I just not got around to mess with the settings in detail.  I'm happy to report its solid as a rock and runs at 39C idle and 47C under load.

The PC I build the other day was for a friend.

Yea, the 955 surprised me when I was able to hit 4GHz at 1.44V.  I didn't think I would be able to do that.

Also, I just read over my post from last night.  Such bad grammar...

Sweetness. Definitely will be looking into Silverstone cases - they're very affordable in comparison to Corsair and the others.
