yeah nothing wrong with having PSU on top... it DOES work nice for exhaust fan. When I see a need for having bigger case, I'll get one with PSU on bottom... yes my PSU runs pretty cold so it doesn't matter if its intake air is a little hotter

edit: in fact I would be very surprised if a PSU with fan pushing air inside the PSU from the case interior wouldn't exhaust it outside the psu(outside the case). The PSU would be breaking laws of physics if it would act as intake...

Just look at the fan(s), computer fans always blow toward the rig that's holding the motor to the frame.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. I realize the heatsink is facing the wrong direction. I wasn't the one to put it together and I've been to lazy to pick up some thermal paste to re-adjust it.

Couple changes since the last time, new monitor, mousepad, case, vga cooler, and lots of tidying.
Antec P182 and Thermaltake 550W.
Gigabyte P43 with 4GB G.Skill and an E8400.
(Asus) 4850 and Accelero S1, yay for passive.
x.Fi of some nature, I only use it now because I get less EMI buzz.
Some Asus optical drive, a WD 300GB and some other 80GB I found in the closet.
G15, Lachesis, C4 nGen 16x10.
Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 and some random stick mic.
P182 offers amazing cable management. Hardest part was the front panel wires and with a longer SATA cable for the optical drive, I could clean up the bottom some more. As is though, the airflow is amazing and even passive the S1 keeps the 4850 nice and cool. I've gotten the E8400 up to 3.6 GHz with 8 hours of prime 95 under it's belt and not breaching 65C. Eventually it crashed out, I think the PSU may not be able to take it as the BSOD said a power fault.
