AMD Athlon XP 3200+
2gig Kingston PC3200 @200Mhz
Epox SLI mobo w/nforce 4
2 X XFX 6800XTreme 256 DDR 3
Not overclocked as yet as I unfortunately bought an Artic Cooling 64 Silencer CPU cooler, and while extremely quiet is a pos when it comes to cooling... barely better than a stock AMD cooler, so DON'T BUY ONE, there I hope I saved someone $40...
I run at 1200 x 1600 in BF2 all high, 16X AA (thats right 16X, sli baby look into it)
I get an average of 90 FPS ingame on a 64 player server...

I hope this convinces some of you that have a 754 chipset and are thinking they need to spend a ton of cash on a new processor to game at high res, that it is totally unneccessary as most games are way more GPU intensive than CPU intensive... in fact the higher res runs BETTER than a lower one as it taxes the GPU's more than the CPU... This is my "budget" system I built just to show up a buddy that spent $4000 on his PC, this one cost about  $1200 CAN, I do have a dual core system with a BFG 7800 GT OC in it, on an ASUS MB, but it doesn't perform better than the budget sytem at high res...

I have probably got the cheapest computer that runs BF2:

Sempron 2800+
1 gig Patriot value RAM
ATI Mobility 9600 SE Low profile
40 gig HD 7400 RPM
logitech cordless mouse
original keyboard
Logitech hadphone/mic

Runs just fine at 800x600 with settings on Med.

Base computer was bought on clearance from Walmart for $275
Added Ram and GPU for about $125
Total cost less than $450
