I think the hind out performs all the HELOs.  It's perfect for the death circle.  you can do insane barrel rolls.  The auto rockets serve people.  I actually like the Tv position on it too, it's easy to line your gunners up. Soloing is by far the easiest. It is hands down the best chopper.  The twin engines give you that edge on gaining altitude against the apache too.

The Hinds only downfall is its heavy drift and bulky size, so its a little bit tougher flying in tight spots where you want to avoid AA,  buildings ETC.

I take the HIND any day over any of the vanilla choppers.

No.

If you mean "lose 100m altitude" by "insane barrel roll" then sure.

Apache rocket accuracy is better, though possibly from better agility.

Apache gains altitude faster too, the whole chopper feels like it has tons of extra torque waiting to sling it around wherever you want. Hind, not so much.

Solo it must be probably the worst chopper in the game, unless you have problems stabilizing the chopper. Doing any sort of maneuver before the shot has a high probability of leading to crashing if not at incredibly high altitude.

I don't get  why people are so complimentary of the Hind's ability to strafe. Sure it's easy as hell, but that is what makes the chopper bad. I should hope you can strafe smoothly in the other choppers, and they are much easier to pull out of the strafe and take a shot at a target or get to cover.

The Hind is pretty good for solo-ing against infantry, because it's got the big splash rockets of the SF choppers, but the Apache's just better at flying.  The Hind may be a bit tougher, but the maneouverability of the AH-64 means that as soon as you're damaged enough to be in danger you can just bug out and go for repairs anyway.

Both the SF helos have awesome rockets for slaughtering infantry with; but the Apache has better maneuverability, and a more concentrated rocket spread, and in my opinion that makes it better.

The vanilla AH's, the Cobra and Havok, are faster and even more maneuverable than the two SF choppers, and are much better equipped for hunting enemy armour, but less good against infantry since their rockets are next to useless.

I don't really see any advantages for the Hind over the Apache; it's slower and more awkward, and should really have had a couple of passenger seats to make up for it (which would be awesome on Iron Gator...)

i still like the Cobra the best if i'm piloting because it's the fastest in the game.if i'm gunning then i'll take the Havoc;it's so easy to gun it's not even fair.

I think the only fault with the chopper is that the missiles fire wide apart other then that its fine.

What happened to the Tiger HAP in the poll?

You get the 30mm Havoc Cannon and the missile spread of the Cobra. What could you not like?
I vote for the Tiger.

For me, the Hind is the best chopper to fly in the game.  I just like the feel of how it handles.  It floats, but it can do it without the overly-bulky feel of the Havok.  Although it's missile spread blows, and I can't seem to perfect the 'circle of death' that blinkofdeath has nailed, oh so well.

The Apache though is more lethal in every sense, it's got less spread on it's missiles, and the cannons for the gunners on each seem damn similar to me.  The TV's (seem) are the same, but the Apache is a little bit quicker for me to line up as I don't have to compensate for the Hind carrying past when I want it to.

The only real advantage that the Hind has over the Apache is it's rate of climb, I believe it was like 3 seconds quicker to 100m up, from a cold start.  The is very vital if you get a decent pilot in the other chopper.  But other than that, I see no real combat advantages to the Hind, just sechciness and fun.

(Oh, and I don't like the Vanilla birds much at all, so I just didn't bother to talk about them)

the whole reason why the HIND was invented was to rape infantry. You can see this because of how far you have down the TV missle box is, the rocket spread, and its circling capabilities

Yep, Koala knows whats up,  The apache is for ghost town as for as utilizeing all of it't charectoristics, Thats were I see the apache shine the most.  On gator it depends,  any good pilot-gunner in the apache can keep the MECSF at there Uncap the whole round just firing Tvs into the island, but once the hind is up you best be on your toes ready to spot.   If you get downed by the Hind on gator, if im in the pilot seat that apache is not getting up the rest of the round.   I love the missile spread on the Hind, when you have over 150 hours with S.F helos, you can get a pretty good idea how the spread comes out whether you be strafing, doing the circle of Death whatevs.  The missile spread is too rad when you are coming straight down on your opposition and unleashing all eight rockets, the spiral effect is too cool.

Another note that may give the apaches missiles the upper hand is the Hydra Rockets, they seem to do more damage.
Blink of death is a jedi when it comes to flying the Hind, I'm learning some of his tactics, but not even close to his level.  The force is not that strong yet with me.  Even though I get lucky sometimes in the air against him, which is not often.   Blink should trademark the circle of death into the CIRCLE OF BLINK.

This is just my Rant on the Hind.  And I would love to see the Hind matched up against a cobra,Z-10, Havoc.  That would be different intresting battle.

as a matter of fact when u barrol roll on the apache it seems to loose more altitude than the hind.. hind all the way for me. by the way this is coming from a guy that has 270 hours in sf choppers

a major drawback to the hind is its size.  it should just have a big ass target on its side that says hit me with a tv missle.

Steelie, your only going to get hit by a TV if you let it happen and fly like a idiot.  Keep a good altidude whilst raping and you wont get hit by AT rockets.  If you stay constantsly moving  youd be suprised how hard it is to hit a hind with just one AT, just rerember two rockets can take you down, so if you  take a hit from one, it's always smart to repair, But only after you have eliminated key targets Apache, Mobile AA whatever it may be.  So you can safely repair and rearm with no worries.

Both choppers are good. Just with the apache it's a little more sensitive. Apache missles are stronger... So i would never go heads up on missles
on apache unless he's hurt. I always tv! the apache.
And i use only keyboard and mouse! No joystick.
